Project Description:

My company has a proprietary casino game that we sell that is written in .NET and uses MS SQL. I want to try and get this to work in a Linux environment. Now I know a lot of first thoughts are that this is impossible... well from my research it should be very possible. WINE now supports Direct X and with Mono we can have .NET support as well.

I know Linux fairly well and have tried to implement this myself, but I don't think I know Linux well enough for this. But I feel it can be done! If you are up for the challenge, lets make it happen!

There are other challenges that we will face with this project, but I need some more answers from someone who knows Linux well enough to answer them.

I am also not sure where this project will lead, but if I get the right developers perhaps we can create a new technology that others can use in order to make this work. An Open Source project. Budget is low, but long term relationships will be built and needed, also for future support, there will be more money down the road. Please keep this in mind, and do not bid on this project if you are not willing to accept this fact.

    What have you tried exactly, to date, and what kind of problems did you have?

    Would you still be expecting to communicate with MS SQL, or would you expect to use MySQL?
