Some knowledge of and/or interest in golf and the game"s future might be a plus, but it is not required and present-day golf knowledge that is deeply embedded and frequently flawed might instead contribute to a project of lower quality.A major issue is that early development phases have already been paid for in full (leaving little cash left) to a contractor now ill, having suffered a stroke, with presumably no chance of ever recovering any money spent based on his situation. I can only hope I can eventually get some business value out of this situation (I am told he wants to resume work when able to but no other useful information is ever given) despite his very poor performance even before he became more seriously ill. But this unfortunate situation opens the door for hopefully a better relationship(s) to be forged with the right party or parties.Briefly, the needed device(s) comprises 3-D wireless motion detection that likely attaches to a golf club and gathers accurate, stable 3-D golf club motion data during golfer pre-swing movement (before the backswing of any golf swing [including a practice swing] even begins). Further required is an appropriate algorithm and additional application software to help decipher a critical pre-swing rotation point location developed and existing only during this period (which most golfers have but at various locations) that essentially divides the golf club"s length into two sections during the pre-swing. Various types of club movements occurring during this period, comprising some that are extremely subtle and short, may be far more challenging regarding algorithm development and/or hardware technology than just tracking and analyzing a relatively simple golf swing.The determined rotation point location is then applied (in the form of an adjustable fulcrum location) on a discrete scale for balancing golf clubs (which also needs to be developed), cumulatively resulting in a new golf club specification named "waggle weight." For those familiar enough with golf already, this is a badly needed advancement of the already-long-proven yet still-badly-misunderstood golf club specification named swingweight.Time is of the essence, as the contractor noted above has delivered essentially zero (not even any documentation for anyone else to work from) over the past three years for what was supposed to be done in a few months. (He was supposedly literally just days away from finally completing the project successfully when sadly suffering his stroke). So valuable remaining patent protection time has now been lost.As indicated, little cash is available due to the present circumstances (at least until it can be proven that a prototype or early model works appropriately and some initial test data can be gathered and analyzed to see if continuing is warranted). The purpose of the preamplifier unit is to protect the sensitive receiving section from high-voltage signals during the transmission and permit the echo-signal to pass through for further amplification The power amplifier output is connected to the preamplifier through a pair of back-to-back (D1) diodes and the interconnecting cable to a diode bridge in the preamplifier. The IN-4004 diodes serve to reduce the hum and noise generated by the power amplifier to less than 0.6 V, while the diode B-1 bridge is biased by the 2 K resistors to pass the resulting low-noise voltage to chassis ground.When a tone burst is generated, this B-1 bridge is biased off and D1 pair of back-to back diodes passes the signal to the terminals of the transducer. The second B-2 diode bridge, which is in the transducer leg of the pre-amplifier, is also biased off from this high voltage signal.In the absence of a tone burst, the back-to-back D2 diodes that were previously short-circuited are now open circuited, and the voltage present at the transducer terminals is passed to the 100:1 step-up transformer through the B-2 diodes bridge. A third set of back-to-back D3 diodes are used to limit the leak-through signal form the B-2 diode bridge to the step-up transformer during the tone burst. The step-up transformer is used to obtain 40-dB of noiseless amplification of echo-signals varying from 0.1 to 400 µV. The BFW 10 low-noise FET operational amplifier provides another 40 dB of gain, raising the signal level into the mV range.A band-pass filter is used to filter the other noise components in echo-signal and amplify up to a gain of 60 dB. The effects of ground loop currents are avoided by feeding a sample of control unit ground current back to the preamplifier through the non-inverting input of the last stage of amplification. The echo signal, now band-limited and amplified by 80 dB, is fed through a single conductor of the interconnection cable to the sound device line-in port of the PC.

We are evaluating several options to accomplish this and while this is not a complicated project it will require someone with the skills to create a verified BOM and PCB Schematic and Layout.We have evaluated several potential parts but would like the guidance of someone that does this regularly to verify and or suggest lower cost parts, better platform and maybe even simplify the idea some.This will most likely require a board that has a Full Speed USB implementation as without this the USBMIDI protocol is not typically implemented. Use of capacitive touch and rotary encoders/potentiometers and sliders will be present in this system as well.We also would like to consider in addition possibly TI"s wilink modules for embedded ble and wifi, but we are open to alternative modules as well.We are not 100% committed to use a Cypress PSOC setup, but seems to be a good fit for the project but will rely on your expertise for suggestions in this area as well.Look forward to your expertise!
