    I am developing a zigbee based monitoring system for grain storage in agriculture (grain bins / tanks). Where possible, I&quot;ll be deploying off the shelf electronics. There is one use case where I cannot fit an ideal off the shelf solution. I&quot;ll be monitoring various temperature and moisture detection cables for grain storage. These temp and RH cables deploy Thermocouples and one-wire digital temperature sensors as well as digital relative humidity sensors. I need to have a PCB designed that is capable of reading these types of sensors, as required. the concept is to have one single board capable of reading up to 18 thermocouples as well as at least 2 channels dedicated to the digital temperature and humidity sensors (this number may change as I find more details on these sensors). The readings are not required constantly, (sensor sampling is once per 15min.) so intelligent &quot;switching&quot; of the thermocouple inputs could be deployed if it is a cost savings measure.The board needs to have provisions for a zigbee pro RF module so as to work on a mesh network featuring a typical zb mesh coordinator.The board will be mounted on top of the grain storage vessel, so to be a truly wireless solution, the PCB must either be powered by a long life battery (7 years minimum) or either powered or recharged by a solar cell.Some optional connections should be available for alternative installations, such as alternate 12V power connection (when solar isn&quot;t available), RS485 2 wire comms (in case zigbee isn&quot;t approved for use)All field wiring connections to the PCB need to be by screw type terminal blocks that are easily wiredForm factor (foot print) needs to be as small as possible, but still facilitate the desired connectors for ease of field wiring.Firmware should convert the raw input signals to meaningful values (hexidecimal or integer perhaps) as to be sent via string over zigbee. It may be necessary to provide for a calibration of some kind for accuracy.My expectations would be for a full design with a complete data packet with drawings, gerbers, etc. all available so that board could be easily manufactured anywhere with no re-design necessary.Candidates that cannot fulfill initial prototypes and pre-production units need not bid. Bidders that can also fulfill small batch contract manufacturing of final product a HUGE plus.COGS target for final product would be &lt;$60USD without zigbee module installed.More Details available upon request.

    The ProjectThe following provides a brief description of 2 small electronic circuits to be redesigned to incorporate state of the art technologies. The selected freelancer will design the new version, hardware and software, layout the PCBs, order the proto PCBs and parts, assemble and test the prototypes, More detailed information will be provided including original schematics and physical specs with the awarded assignment. The first device receives commands to measures differential pressure and environmental temperature and transmits measured data over one 2 wire cable line which is also its power source. It works within a network of many such units on this 2 wire cable using addresses and allotted time slots. The new design will incorporate the latest low power precision regulator to lower the total network line current thus improve network performance. There are but a few and simple instructions to the unit, some for bench testing and one for regular reading once on the network. The protocol will be provided with the mandate.The second unit interfaces a network of the above and PLC. It provides power to the network and transfer commands, receives and converts data from the network and sends data to the PLC. This is the project in a nutshell.

    I am developing a product that consists of an enclosure that takes one of three different models of video camera, and transmits the video signal over 50 metres of Cat5 cable for viewing on a TV monitor at the other end. A proof-of-concept prototype has been developed using commonly available off-the-shelf parts. I now require a contractor to either convert these functions to a custom PCB, or simplify the prototype design, and prepare plans for manufacture.nnEach camera outputs video in a unique way:nCamera 1 outputs composite video via a 2.5 mm jack; Camera 2 outputs composite video via a female RCA plug; Camera 3 outputs video via a HDMI mini jack. nThe conversion of signals for transmission over Cat5 cable is achieved by using a multi-balun (video, audio, power) at either end of the Cat5 cable.nnThe prototype works thus:nCamera 1 video signal is output through the 2.5 mm jack, to a composite video splitter (allowing multiple composite signal sources to be ported through the multi-balun) and then transmitted over 50 metres of Cat5 cable.nCamera 2 video signal is converted from a female RCA plug to use the same 2.5 mm jack as used in Camera 1. (the adapter required for female RCA to 2.5 mm jack does not form part of this project) nCamera 3 outputs video signal via an HDMI mini jack. The product first converts this to a composite signal (using a HDMI converter), then runs through to the composite splitter to the balun, and then along the Cat5 cable.nThe prototype does not use any signal amplifiers, however, if better quality transmission could be achieved by including these then this should be specified.nnThe system also allows audio input remotely from the camera, so that audio is overlaid on the video file. A microphone (the prototype uses a simple lapel mic) is plugged into the multi-balun, with the input transmitted down the Cat5 cable, through the other multi-balun and input into the camera via a 2.5 mm jack. Audio input is only supported in 2 of the 3 proposed camera systems. At this stage, one camera system accepts audio without issue; the second camera allows audio input but with some noise associated. Some trouble shooting of this may be required.n nThe product must also allow for power to be distributed to the cameras, taking 12v power along the Cat5 cable, regulating to a USB plug (~5V 1 amp) to power the cameras.nnThe deliverables on this project include:n- the design must include a custom PCB or a miniaturised simplification of the prototype I have producedn- the design must consist of four short (ie less than 10 cm ) cables for plugging into cameras with the following terminations:n1. 2.5 mm male jack for audio n2. 2.5 mm male jack for composite video (ie three ring plug)n3. HDMI mini male plug for HDMI videon4. USB power (5V, 1 amp)n- the PCB (or other device), not including cables, must fit within an enclosure approximately 50 mm deep x 30 mm wide (negotiable)n- the design must be appropriately documented (in correct format/detail) to allow a manufacturer to mass-produce the productn- a parts list and approximate cost per unit of manufacturen- specifications for the Cat5 cable to ensure quality audio/video/power transmissionn- a working prototype, that supplies good quality composite video, supplies power to the cameras, and allows audio input from a remotely located microphone (ie at the other end of the 50 m cable). I don&quot;t want to use SD-cards since the idea is to have automated DAQ from a remote location (location will have power anyway).nnI&quot;m a software engineer, I bought a USB DAQ and the software interface to that is fine and the software part is straight forward but I have no knowledge of electronics and my soldering which joins the Pyranometer (which simply measures voltage) is simply rubbish, I get bizarre results on the readouts.nnThe Pyranometer has 5 wires coming out of it -&gt; a 5 volt + and - for the boost, a voltage + and -, and a cable screen. The computer is in my roof, the Pyranometer has a mount on the corner of the roof gable, I just want to run it for several months to calibrate and join to cloud storage - then take it to a field location to get some real results.nnI&quot;m open to other forms of DAQ interface (e.g. Ethernet) willing to listen to experience but cost is a limiting factor. Some of the bigger DAQ boxes seem overkill for this since I only need the one channel which is a voltage reading between 0 and 5 volts. For the field test I want to try taking 1 second measurements and then have the ability to vary the frequency via remote location which is why I want to use the computer as the storage device, and not any datalogger on the market. The main thing is to just get the thing working properly so that I can get my measurements coming through reliably.nnThe skye instruments pyranometer has a high accuracy although it hasn&quot;t been calibrated recently.

    Dean,Digital layout :below is a picture of a split between the digital (and antenna) and analog sides, the analog will be sent later. the digital side is the left hand side same number of layers as before.1. Keep large components on the top side2. If you can start from your original layout on the last board, the RF antenna seemed to work really well, if you can replicate that through L4 L3,l6 c43, c42,c38,l5 though to pin 25 and 26 of the processor U4 along with the Rf connector you put down before. the ground plane can be shrunk if required.3. resistors can be swapped out for smaller packages if needed. Capacitors should be kept as is.4. Green diodes ds2, ds3 and ds4, ds5 should be spaced around the PCB at 90 degrees so 3 on the digital side and 1 on the analog side.5. we will get location of the detect pins and the charge pins soon.6. on the charger page, can you place the caps on pin 2 and pin 10 as close to the LM3658 as possible.7. on page 1 place c64 and c22 close to U6.Alex
