Projects & Assignments
1. Campus Network Design
Description: Cisco ECNM (Enterprise Composite Network Model) network design for Campus
Network. A structured model consisting of Core, Distribution & access level devices along with
ISR routers and Cisco & Juniper security devices with redundant & loop free topology. Network
Models used: ECNM, AVVID, PDIOO, Hierarchical Network Model.
2. Cisco Call Manager 5.0 / Meeting Place Express, IPLC Installation & Administration
Description: Managing VoIP telephony (50+ Nodes) for company sites in US, Bangalore,
Hyderabad & from centrally located facility at Pune, India. Configuring Cisco-7941G, 7936 IP
phones & conference stations. Installation of International Private Leased Line Connection (IPLC)
between Pune & US for VoIP telephony. Configuration of E1-ISDN-PRI on 2800-Series Cisco ISR
router for IP Telephony.
3. Enterprise Wide Network Management (NMS) Implementation
Description: Implementation of enterprise wide Network Management solution for managing &
monitoring 2000+ node nodes including Cisco switches, Extreme hardware, pix-firewalls, ISA
firewalls, Domain Controllers, and Enterprise level crucial servers. Tools used: OpManager,
IPswitch: WhatsUp, Nagios, Spiceworks, IP scanners, ping latency tool: SuperPinger.
4. Multi-Vendor Network Configuration
Description: Maintaining core of corporate network, consisting of Cisco, Netgear, Extreme,
3Com manageable switches & other layer 2 unmanageable hubs & switches. Activities included
IOS up grade, Access control configurations, Vlan, inter-Vlan routing (OSPF) and extending
VLANs to other branch offices (Trunking, 802.1q).
5. Site-to-Site VPN Tunnel Configurations
Description: Lan-to-Lan VPN tunnel establishment between two different locations of same /
different company, troubleshooting VPN issues, technical discussions / conference calls with
client side Network Team. Configuration of tunnels on Cisco Pix-515 & Juniper Netscreen NS5gt
firewalls. Resolving vpn connection client (Cisco, Netscreen, and checkpoint) issues.
6. Cisco ASA Firewall Project
Description: Configuring NAT between private Vlans & public IPs and allowing controlled access
from restricted private networks to outside network. ASA image upgrade, installation of ASDM,
troubleshooting hardware memory issues, using policy for keeping time sensitive application
timing out.
7. Campus Network Security & Optimization
Description: Improving internal security of network by applying proper ACLs, VACLs/MACLs,
DHCP snooping, ARP validation, Storm Control, UDP traffic minimization, STP fine tuning,
portfast, backbone fast & UDLD feature. Link aggregation using LACP.
8. High End Cisco Device Installation
Description: Installing Cisco 7200, 6500 Supervisor (sup-720) engines, ISR router DSP modules,
Maintaining Cisco devices as part of field calls. Troubleshooting hardware problems, running
diagnosis checks and fine tuning the configuration to resolve high CPU utilization problems.
