  Setting a !Joomla 2.58 based page driven by menu items, each looking into a tiny SQL DB to retrieve a list of articles and then populates 3 zones of the page.I have something working, but with no SQL DB : I code each list into a module .. :-(For the moment I have nearly 300 articles. May growth significantly to 1000 / 1500.The design of the page is as follow :a) Top image with menu b) Breadcrumbsc) Two zones side by side : containing each one line of text. The first one depends on the menu item selected, the second one based on ... see above d) Two zones side by side. The right one contains the article the user is reading. The left one is a display module containing a list of articles titles. When the user clicks an article"s title, the full article appears on the right zone and the title of the article appears also into the second zone mentioned in the previous paragraph (c)). This mechanism seems simple. For each of the (nearly) 40 items of the menu, I am able to give a list of 5 to 30 articles (given by IDs). One article can belongs to many items of the menu.For the moment, for each 40 items of the menu, I set up a module to code the list of the article"s ID !!Certainly not the best way.I would like to set up a tiny SQL Database along with !Joomla and something simple to manage ID list.Of course, I need PHP lines to set up the code between menu item, the list of article to show and the page to display the result. We need to change the sign up process. We currently have a two step sign up process; step 1; the user enters a username and email address to sign up for free; they are emailed a password and then have to retrieve that email to sign in. Once they are signed in they have to upgrade their membership to watch all content. This is the second step where they have to pay using Worldpay.We want to change this process and change the layout of the homepage.
