PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES The holder of this certificate: o installs, checks, upgrades and maintains installations, software systems and applications o operates, locates any damage and provides technical support for PCs and terminals of Information Systems and computer networks o manages, supports and maintains installations for access to the Internet o encodes applications in programming languages o utilizes processing tools in multimedia works and the intrinsic multimedia potential o develops, supports and maintains IT applications (Developer), having knowledge of basic IT terminology for hardware and software o uses and develops familiar software and expands into new software technology o utilizes and manages databases o uses development tools for software applications (IDE) and produces software applications o makes back-ups, restores data from back-ups and brings back installations to regular operation o knows, observes and applies regulations and legislation for the protection of personal data and software copyright o protects computers from potential threats (viruses) and takes measures for the natural and reasonable data protection o has basic knowledge of business dexterity and customer service o communicates in English and Greek, and comprehends technical handbooks with English terminology. 4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE (1) The holder of this certificate can be occupied in the manufacture, support, operation and maintenance of software applications or in the sale of IT products, in the public and private sector, as an employee or on a self-employed basis. The recognition of the Vocational Training Diploma I.E.K. as a qualification for appointment in the public sector is regulated by Presidential Decree no.50/2001 (Official Journal of the Hellenic Republic 39 / Vol. ? / 5-3-2001).
