I am very happy with the skills and professionalism this designer displayed. I don't know about other people, but I don't find portfolios helpful to me. They are examples of work based on other people’s interests and not mine. My solution was to choose a few designers and put their skills to the test with a paid contest so I can see what they can do first-hand on a design of my choosing. I wanted an erotic illustration of a young woman of Asian descent. I provided them with some photos to guide them and they created a really nice colour illustration. I believe this designer has a lot of potential and I look forward to seeing the full scope of their talents on future projects and building a working relationship. This was a test project done on a hourly basis, the one thing I was happy NOT to see was an attempt to over bill me. Banu is a respectable designer, was understanding with the changes I suggested and is an all-around nice person to work with.
