Design a Datasheet for Products

Contest Brief

We need a template / layout design for a product datasheet, the product datasheet will be read by engineers, architects and building contractors, so it needs to be clear, easily understandable whilst still looking smart and professional.

We don't want a datasheet that is overcrowded, and like the use of clear space. The design must allow for a 4mm white border around the outside, as they will be printed on a printer that isn't capable of printing to the edge of the page/.

Design must be submitted in a CS5 compatible indesign file.

We want to include;

- A photo of the the product, a lot of the products are lengths, so they will appear from the edge of the page. see attached a example photo.
- Short Description
- Advantages - Bullet Points
- Applications - Bullet Points
- Section Drawing with dimensions
- Table of Section Properties
- Available lengths / Pack Sizes
- Related Products

These datasheets will show very similar data to what is displayed on our website product page.

We will be using the 2pp datasheet for products with less information, and the 4pp datasheet for products that are similar with different sizes.

i have attached;

    Hello, tobydvw - I have submitted #9 , which I believe incorporates all of the comments that you have made thus far. There are both 2PP and 4PP versions. Please let me know if you have any other alterations that you think would help the design and I am happy to make changes and resubmit. It has been a pleasure working with you.

    Dear Contest Holder, I think some of us (or maybe just me) being pretty confuse since this is a little involving civil engineering knowledge. Well at least for me, a technical data sheet is not something that concern only on layout, but more to what needed and important to be informed to your customer regarding the technical information that is necessary. So maybe, you can help us, for example, you said "We will be using the 2pp datasheet for products with less information, and the 4pp datasheet for products that are similar with different sizes." >>> less information, which kind of information that you want to put, and the difference with the 4pp, how you want to make it different. All we need is just clear direction and I believe all friends in this freelancer are willing to help and upload their best work. Thank You.

      Another point is that the green banner isnt very friendly for not being able to print to edge, it wont look nearly as good.
