Introducing the "ARKYD" – an advanced, orbiting space telescope that will be publicly accessible by YOU, the crowd! Conduct citizen science or simply get your photo taken in space above the Earth.

The T-Shirt design can be funny, inspirational, or both. Themes that touch on citizen science, interactive education, accessible space exploration, “space selfies”, or asteroid mining are encouraged. It should be visually striking and impressive, as well as easy and affordable to print onto a T-Shirt (Samples below)
Design the winning T-Shirt and take home $2000 cash, have your hometown's name written on the telescope and have a personalised photo taken from space with the Earth as the backdrop!
Planetary Resources will provide to Freelancer.com for their selection of one (1) Grand Prize award consisting of “Education Ambassador” status, providing rewards commensurate with Planetary Resources’ Kickstarter campaign level of the same designation to the institution of the winner’s choice. Prize includes access to the ARKYD as well as teaching and research tools will comprise the following prize terms: (1) 25 Main Optic Observations to be directed by the winners, (2) 30 Digital Space Selfies, (3) an educational poster describing the technology that makes the ARKYD work, (4) a full size desktop model of the ARKYD as a teaching tool with the pledger name (if desired) etched into it, (5) access to a curriculum and tutorial developed by the team at Planetary Resources, in collaboration with educators, and (6) a one-year membership to The Planetary Society. Estimated delivery in August 2015.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
The competition begins 12:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on the 11th of June 2013 and entries close at 12:30 PM PDT on the 24th of June 2013. Judging and voting will continue until 7:00 PM PDT on the 30th of June 2013, at which point the prizes will be announced. To participate, all you need to do is create an account on Freelancer.com (free to register) and submit your design.
• All contest entries must place Freelancer.com and Planetary Resources in a positive light. Entries featuring illegal acts, or acts that bring Freelancer.com or Planetary Resources into disrepute will be rejected. Offensive graphics or words will also be rejected.
• If the Freelancer.com logo is used in the design it must be the version available in the media kit which can be found on at freelancer.com. Planetary Resources media can be used as available from PlanetaryResources.com
• Group entries are permitted (if you want to form a team).
• We will make each and every contest entry publicly viewable on this website as entries are submitted.
• All entries submitted for the contest will remain the property of Freelancer.com and will not be returned to the participants. Freelancer.com will make the winning design available to Planetary Resources to use as they see fit, without limitation.
• The design must be provided in both vectorised and standard formats. EPS and JPEG are optimal.
• Finalists may be asked to provide the original files used during production of the entry.
• We reserve the right to modify the rules at any time.
This contest is open to anyone except where legally prohibited. We want entries from all over the world! Contestants must be registered members of Freelancer.com, which is free. Non-members can sign up to participate!
Conditions of Entry
Any entry that is clearly and objectively insulting, sexist, offensive, racist, crude, intolerant and all sorts of other words similar to “inappropriate” will be automatically disqualified! Enter as many times as you like. By entering the contest, you agree that all entries submitted for the contest will remain the property of Freelancer.com and will not be returned to the participants. All entries must place Freelancer.com and Planetary Resources in a positive light. Nothing illegal or designs that bring Freelancer.com or Planetary Resources into disrepute will be accepted. No offensive graphics or words will be accepted. Entries which do not meet the required Submission Format will be automatically disqualified from the contest. Freelancer.com or Planetary Resources are not liable in any manner, for entries lost, delayed or damaged. Prize funds will be paid out to winners through Freelancer.com. Thus, participants must have a valid Freelancer.com account to participate in the Contest. “Education Ambassador” prize will be fulfilled by Planetary Resources through the medium of their choosing.
Selection of Winner
