Postcard for Property Tax Appeals
- Status: Closed
- Prize: $75
- Entries Received: 49

We are sending a business mailing to residential property owners who have been chosen by a Home Value Comparison Software Program. These properties are paying too much property taxes in comparison to their same-size neighbor properties. We appeal the real estate tax to the Cook County Tax Assessor and the Board of Review to ask them to lower the taxes. Our success rate is 93% to get some reduction. Chicagoland taxes are always going up and properties are not charged the same tax. Sometimes, the tax seems almost random in how it is applied.
All the information on the postcard is publicly available. The postcard will have blank areas for the unique information that we have on each property. We will be adding a picture, the Pin number of that unique property, the deadline to appeal this year and savings expected per year over a 3, 2 or 1 period (depending on when in the triannual process they are.) and the name/address of property owner.
We are sending a pdf of the postcard that is not good enough. And, our logo.
The postcard needs to be designed so it is visually appealing and it must grab the homeowner's attention and convey urgency to act. In most cases, there is only a 2+ week timeline for the homeowner to respond. The Assessor office or Board of Review is only opened for 30 days.
Looking to the front of the postcard; we have already decided to replace the lady pic with a picture of their actual home. So area needs to be blank. On the back side of the postcard where it has the PIN, address and savings left blank, we need to change it to PIN, Deadline to Appeal and Savings.
Note: This a 5 X 7 inch, Post Card which has two sides. We need in PDF.
