Project Overview
I am seeking an experienced brand identity designer to develop a sophisticated, distinctive visual identity for Dr. Danielle Renee™, my broader professional and thought-leadership brand.
My background spans human development, education, social work, and leadership, informed by both professional expertise and lived experience. I hold an Ed.D. and MSW, am a U.S. Army veteran, and have more than 17 years of experience in education.
My work now extends beyond any single professional role and is centered on helping people and organizations gain clarity, develop intentionally, and maximize their potential.
This is not simply a logo project. I am looking for a visual identity system that can grow with my work as a Human Development Strategist, creator, speaker, author, and thought leader, while supporting distinct intellectual properties and future bodies of work.
Brand Architecture
Dr. Danielle Renee™ is the master/creator brand.
One emerging body of work is:
MEANtime by Dr. Danielle Renee™
MEANtime is built around a human-development framework that helps people assess where they are, gain clarity, and take intentional action toward where they want to be. Its central idea is:
“MEANtime is not about waiting. It is about what we intentionally do in the space between where we are and where we want to be.”
For this contest, MEANtime should be treated as a sample sub-brand/application—not as the primary identity being designed. I want to see how the proposed Dr. Danielle Renee identity could naturally extend to a named body of work without the two brands competing visually.
Desired Brand Personality
The Dr. Danielle Renee identity should feel:
Sophisticated • Intelligent • Contemporary • Human • Warm • Confident • Intentional • Distinctive
It should convey professional credibility without feeling overly academic, clinical, institutional, or corporate.
I want the identity to feel established and elevated, yet approachable and human. It may have feminine qualities, but it should not default to stereotypically feminine branding. My work is not limited to women or any single professional field.
I am open to thoughtful creative interpretation of typography, color, visual language, symbols, monograms, or other identity devices. I am intentionally not prescribing a color palette because I want designers to derive the visual direction from the brand itself.
What This Brand Is NOT
Please avoid positioning the identity as a:
School or education-consulting brand
Therapy or mental-health practice
Wellness or spa brand
Women’s empowerment or “girl boss” brand
Generic motivational or traditional self-help brand
Traditional corporate consulting firm
Please also avoid predictable imagery such as graduation caps, books, brains, puzzle pieces, lotus flowers, butterflies, lightbulbs, generic people icons, globes, handshakes, or generic upward arrows.
I value original concepts and strong typography over decorative imagery.
Contest Submission Requirements
Please submit a brand identity concept—not simply an isolated logo.
Your initial submission should include:
Primary Dr. Danielle Renee wordmark/logo
Optional monogram, symbol, or secondary mark
Proposed color palette
Typography direction
Black/monochrome version of the primary identity
1–2 realistic applications showing the identity in use
One example showing how MEANtime by Dr. Danielle Renee™ could live within the proposed brand system
A brief rationale explaining the thinking behind your concept and how it represents the brand
The MEANtime example does not need to be a fully developed second brand identity. Its purpose is to demonstrate that the proposed system can accommodate future intellectual properties and bodies of work.
Designer Screening
I am specifically looking for designers with demonstrated experience developing brand identity systems—not simply individual logos.
Please include 2–3 relevant portfolio examples demonstrating brand identity work and briefly describe your role and creative approach.
Please confirm that your submission is original work created specifically for this contest and does not rely on stock logos, pre-made templates, copied concepts, or third-party artwork.
The selected designer must be able to provide editable vector/source files and transfer the necessary commercial rights to the final approved identity.
Portfolio quality, conceptual thinking, typography, originality, and rationale will be considered alongside the visual submission.
Final Deliverables for Winning Designer
The winning designer will refine the selected concept and provide:
Primary Dr. Danielle Renee logo/wordmark
Horizontal and stacked configurations, where appropriate
Secondary mark/monogram/icon, if applicable
Full-color, black, white/reversed, and one-color versions
Final color palette with HEX, RGB, and CMYK specifications
Typography recommendations
Editable vector/source files (AI/EPS/SVG)
Print-ready PDF
Transparent high-resolution PNG files
Web-ready files
Basic brand usage guide
Guidance for extending the Dr. Danielle Renee visual system to future branded properties, including MEANtime by Dr. Danielle Renee™
What Will Make a Submission Stand Out
I am not looking for the most elaborate or decorative logo. I am looking for a designer who can translate who Dr. Danielle Renee is becoming professionally into an intelligent, memorable, and flexible visual system.
The identity should be capable of growing across books and publications, speaking engagements, conferences, digital platforms, social media, professional materials, workshops, and future intellectual properties.
Most importantly, I want an identity that feels like a lasting professional brand—not a logo created for one job title, one product, or one moment in my career.
