Tutorial: Host a small business website on IBM Cloud

  • Status: Closed
  • Prize: $5000
  • Entries Received: 43
  • Winner: adarshkjames

Contest Brief

This contest is to host a small business website on IBM Cloud and write an engaging blog or tutorial about the experience.

Requirements:

(1) Entry must using at least two IBM Cloud services (e.g. COS + Functions - https://ibm.biz/Solution-tutorials or Kub + Helm Chart for CMS + Postgresql)
Note: Additional consideration will be given to submissions that incorporate open source projects into the final application and blog.

(2) A link to a public blog (must be searchable via Google) about the experience must be provided. This blog can take many forms: for example it can be written as a tutorial, or notes on the experience or review/commentary on IBM Cloud.

(3) The type of small business website isn't critical - you can reuse materials from an existing project or sample site.  The website DOES NOT have to be an IBM site, it can be any website. Explicit, illicit, or offensive material will not be considered.

Judging:

The most well-written, entertaining, and useful blog post will win the grand prize of $5k, 10 runners up will get $1k.

Only entries with a link to a public blog or tutorial and evidence of a deployed site on IBM Cloud will be considered.

    Entry #113 here:
A final note: As the actual deployment possibilities beyond the basic cloud infrastructure are enormous, and since I wasn't able to cover all of them in my writeup, I have updated my entry and added a new section to my writeup (same URL in my #113 ).
The new section covers possible enhancements which I would add, given the time, all are based on IBM technologies and open source repos.

Thanks for the opportunity to take part. I definitely enjoyed working on it.
    Michael

i think the star itself doesnt represent the clear winner it just that they have been shortlisted to win the contest i think the winning criteria itself is much more complex than just a star i hope so that maybe 3 star can still win the contest hopefully

I wouldn't read too much into the stars for right now. That's just helping us stay a bit more organized. We'll review all submissions again thoroughly before selecting a winner.

Hey there, hope you're doing great!

I just got rated 3 stars for my Entry #116 . I was expecting any detailed feedback on what exactly my article is lacking and how can I improve it. Surprizingly, I've not received any comments on it. We still have 6 hours to go, I'd appreciate if you could give some comments on my entry and allow me to improve.

    Thanks!
