Do you have a great idea on how a certain biobased material can be used as a 3D printing material? The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is looking for your ideas!

DOE will award a prize of $3,200 to EACH of the top three applicants.

Contest submission will consist of a 4 page (maximum) report outlining the description of the biobased material and must include:
- How to process the material;
- Any previous 3D printing projects or tasks the material has been used in;
- Biocontent of the material (must be more than 90%);
- Source of the biobased material;
- Expected applications for printed components based on either:
-----> Projected mechanical results,
-----> Thermophysical properties, or
-----> Recent experimental data

Additionally, the review committee will have interest in:
- Projected material cost;
- Potential supply chain;
- Target applications

- Innovation (35/100): Degree to which proposed concept does not currently exist and/or meets an existing need
- Impact (35/100): The amount of impact a technology solution could have
- Feasibility (30/100): The technical feasibility of the proposed concept
