Contest Brief
I have two Nexus 4 phones, one with a broken screen (only parts of the screen work) and the other working fine. Neither are rooted. If possible I would like to avoid rooting both phones. If necessary I can root them, but only if the data will not be destroyed and if the root can be removed for warranty purposes.
I would like a method of copying specific applications over which contain important data to me. Examples of this include:
* Zeo sleep manager
* Citi internet banking
I have already tried Helium/Carbon backup which works for some apps, but not Zeo. I cannot use Titanium since it requires root (and root will wipe my old device!?). I tried adb from a terminal on my Mac which I used to back up everything, but I don't know how to restore just specific apps.
Whoever is first to give me instructions that work will win this competition.
If nobody has a solution that does not require root, then I would need:
* assurance that rooting will not delete the data on the old phone
* steps/instructions for rooting using Mac OS X 10.9. I am technical (can use Terminal etc), but don't have time to research this.
