Contest Brief

I need a fun and easy-to-understand design done for a business directory website. As much 'whitespace' as possible, easy to read font sizes, not too many colors.

FYI: This will ultimately be built into a responsive design (ie. mobile and tablet-friendly).

I have provided two layouts of the home page (the second one simply shows what the dropdown menu and email window look like when you click them).

The general placement and size of things should remain the same (not exactly, but for the most part).

Social networking icons at the top-right. "Email to a friend" and "Save to favorites" should be text links, not icons.

The banner ad at the top and the ads on the right are standard size and must be kept at these dimensions.

The other elements of the design can be 'tweaked' so they look good, but should keep their general placement and size as seen on the attached layouts.

The logo can be 'Fun/whimsical' - such as using an Eiffel Tower as the "A" in PARIS (this is just an idea - not a requirement). Main thing is we need a strong logo for branding that can be small but still understood.

Background: White
Accent Colors: Blue, Red

Finished product must be in PSD format.

I am not looking for a final design, only a great, clean concept for the home page that can be further tweaked (after the contest) before being cutup into a template. A good designer should be able to do it within a few hours ($33/hr for the contest) and the edits after that will be paid hourly.
