Contest Brief

Hi there. I'm trying to redesign my website a little, and one thing that would be useful here and there is a good looking spread of my available CDs/DVDs. If you look on this page, next to where the chicken is, you'll see my very feeble attempt at doing something like that: http://www.erichermanmusic.com/store.html But I'm sure one of you incredibly talented graphic designers could put something more interesting looking together.

IMPORTANT: One important note is that for the version I'm looking for, you should not include the "Jupiter Jackson" cover. Ideally, you would make room for that, or possibly post two versions, one with it and one without. But that album won't be coming out until late in 2014, so for the time being it shouldn't be included in the mix.

If you're able to make each of the covers more 3D, so they look like actual CD cases, that might be cool, but that's not necessary. I also wouldn't stay limited to the kind of thing that I did on that webpage, where they're all lined up next to each other horizontally. I'm sure there are more interesting ways of arranging things, so don't worry about trying to fit a rectangular shape, or whatever. I can adjust that webpage to fit whatever the best design shape ends up being.

I would say that a black background would be preferable, to match the website, but I'm open to other ideas. If you can give me the final file as a PSD or PNG so I could swap out other backgrounds, if needed, that would be great.

I'm sorry for the low contest prize for this ($10), but this is very low on the importance/priority scale for me, so that's really all I can offer.

I'll try to give some feedback as entries come in. Any questions, please let me know.

“Nice to work with, but after a few tries, we still didn\'t get the result to what I really wanted. A little disappointing in that respect.”

#14 is okay, but a little haphazard with the positioning. And the DVD should be rectangular and not squished as it is.

#13 is pretty good. #11 and #12 I could do myself, though.

#5 : Well, at least it's sort of what I asked for, but I could do that myself. I'm looking for something that creatively combines all of the covers, where they overlap each other, maybe angled a bit, or displayed in a creative way.

#7 and #8 : Not what I'm looking for. #9 and #10 : Now we're getting somewhere, though I am still hoping for something a little more creative, or where the covers all overlap each other somewhat. Also, the names of the albums in text don't need to be there, necessarily.

Also as a reference for #10 , I like that you added some thickness to the CD covers for a 3D effect, but it's too thick on some of them, and there should be some thickness on the DVD cover.

#4 : I don't think you guys are understanding what I'm asking for... Please read the brief again, and go to the link I referenced as an example. I need all of the CD covers that I added as files put together in a picture in a way that looks creative. It's only about the positioning of the existing pictures... You're not creating anything new.
