Child Paying Adult

Contest Brief
Want a drawing of a very unhappy child paying a very happy adult some money, with a plane in the background.
Background: It's cheaper for airlines to transport children (lighter) than adults (heavier), as there are less fuel costs involved in transporting lighter people, yet the price is the same, so children are effectively cross-subsidising adults.
I want to illustrate this with a drawing, which will be published on www.southafrica.to (our website)

The biggest concern is that - none of these are any freelancer's creation. Just ready made vectors put together.

I have the whole project starting from my pencil sketch to final shadings in different layers....so little thinking before spamming may help you in future.

#16 and #14 are my joint favourites. What I prefer about #14 is that the express on the adult's face comes through larger (as he's got a larger face) and fiercer. #16 has a slightly clearer expression of sadness on the child's face.

I like the addition of the suitcase, but not the airport buildings in the background...they're an odd shape and drown out the message.

#13 I quite like! It's the most interesting angle of the plane so far, and includes the airport buildings in the best way so far (ie small). There are 2 ways it can be improved: (a) get an evil grin like #11 , and (b) there's not enough contrast in the colours of the people and the background.

Love it man, especially the suitcase. BUT in #3 it's clearer that the money is being paid by the child to the man - in yours it's not 100% clear who is paying who, as they both hold cash.

I like the airport behind #8 , but the people don't have as much prominence as #3

#9 Doesn't have as much weight difference between the 2 as #3 , and the adult doesn't have as evil a grin

#6 What I like about it is that it's clearer that the kid is unhappy than it is in #3 . BUT I don't like the blue shading around the plane, and the adult doesn't come across as large as in #3 , and doesn't have as evil a grin - so I still prefer #3 .

do you mind adding a new character into the picture to give a better implementation of the idea

It's important to have the adult look much bigger, to emphasise the weight difference (an idea is to place them onto a seesaw like scale, to emphasise the weight difference)

The adult should be an adult passenger, shouldn't be wearing a pilot's hat.
