Contest Brief

This contest will build a customized excel spreadsheet for my operation. Once completed, it will:
-- list the days of the year horizontally, and the employees vertically.
-- arrange each employee's 48 hour work week shift in which they work 4 - 10 hour days and then 1 - 8 hour day
-- the work week starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday
-- each week each employee receives 2 consecutive days off (5 day work week)
-- there are three shifts: Night 10 pm - 8 am (or 12 am to 8 am), Morning 7am to 5 pm (or 7am to 3 pm) Afternoon 1:00 pm to 11 pm (or 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm)
-- the number of employees working each shift will depend upon the total number of employees divided by 3. For example, if there are 30 employees, each shift will have 10 people.
-- at the conclusion of each week, all three shifts rotate. All employees on the night shift move to morning shift, the morning shift employees move to afternoon shift, and the afternoon employees move to the night shift.
--one time per month, employees receive 4 consecutive days off. In other works, they will have back-to-back weeks in which they have Friday-Saturday off the first week, and then Sunday-Monday the next week--when the shifts rotate.
-- for the report, the excel spreadsheet should differentiate between the 10 hour shift and the 8 hour shift (see attached). Also, if possible, there should be a way to add up the hours to the far left (48 hours per employee per week)
--
--at some point later, I would like to convert this customized shift Excel schedule into an app, but this is a bit down the road.

Hi Clairflan55. Yes, these are not extra days off, as you correctly said. They are just the regular 2 days off, but arranged across 2 weeks back to back for a long weekend. -- Yes, I'll keep the competition open for at least another day.

Another question: the four consecutive days off once a month (Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon) don't involve extra days off, do they? They are the regular 2-days-per-week off, but just re-organised to give them a long weekend?

I have a question Sir ... The rotation between shifts occurs for the whole shift at the end of the week, or for each worker after his off days?

The rotations between shifts occurs at the end of each week. For example, week 1 a driver works, say morning shift for the entire week. Week 2 he may rotate into an afternoon or night shift for the entire week. Does that help?

Please confirm: "arrange each employee's 48 hour work week shift in which they work 4 - 10 hour days and then 1 - 8 hour day" - first they work all their 10hr shifts, then their last shift of the week is an 8hr shift? Or, randomly mix them, so you don't end up short-staffed near the end of every week? Thanks
