Contest Brief

The company:
Safetybuffer Ltd. is a Finnish company based in Helsinki, specializing on innovations for rail safety issues world wide. Safetybuffer Ltd. contributes the rail industry and society with patented Safetybuffer™ solutions promising of more safety and thus increased return on investment for its customers and subcontractors.

The Idea and meaning of Safetybuffer:
Safetybuffer™ should be considered scaled as an idea (not a single product in the long term). However, the first Huge product will benefit Rail industry with a safetybuffer solution which will be attached in front of trains (locomotives). It has been tested a lot already in recent years and has a potential on preventing/decrease serious injuries of passengers colliding with the train. The Buffer also improves the safety of the train passengers, locomotive driver and decreases the damages to train by moving aside cars and other obstacles from the track.

Check the Youtube video for the idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MReoL06wyVg
(The footage is in Finnish :) and it's taken from the first prototype couple of decades ago, but you'll get the basic idea (kind of "airbag" for the rail), and also today's technology have come up to meet the full criteria of the new buffer generation that's coming ;) )
The idea for the logo is, that even though Safetybuffer relies on the "main" Buffer -product above, it shouldn't necessarily be bound only that one (if picture) but a more abstract idea around the topic (maybe someday safetybuffer will be taken to serve some other safety applications in different environment as well). The logo should definitely look professional. The main customer groups for the buffer are manufacturers/subcontractors of trains/rail industry and also the rail operators worldwide.

Elements:
Icon: abstract or picotrial with some recognizeabilty of the industry. possibility to use with other related applications too (scalability)
Text: one liner "SAFETYBUFFER" or
two rows: "SAFETY
BUFFER"

Oh, and the color: Green is for "safety"? How about orange ("warning") :) You're free to come with your own ideas with that (color) also, but it should be near to safety industry standards though...

We're looking forward for your superior logo for Safetybuffer!
