Contest Brief
Please see the attached file which contains details for our logo re-design. Our primary goal for a redesign is to "rebrand ourselves" to appear more current and to make our image more appealing to include a younger clientele.
While we have a circle logo containing "B of G" (Bank of Gravett) we're open to a new symbol or a recreation of the existing one.
We are also considering a name change in the future where BANK OF GRAVETT would become less dominant, or at least the name Gravett could become secondary in the design, if not phased out completely at some point.
We would like a color and black and white version of the new logo design that could be used in all advertising, signage, website, stationery and business cards.

I think the design would be good for letterhead, but I need it to be versatile and simple enough for other uses such as signage, employee shirts, promotional items, etc. Can you concentrate more on the bank name with a smaller logo incorporated in the design, possibly? Thank you!

I think some designers have designed our name/logo as you may see it on letterhead or an office door, with a lot of detail. However, the more simple, sleek lines of design usually reproduce better on promotional items such as coffee mugs, ink pens, caps, etc. The lettering should be bold enough to see and make a statement with color, shading, gradients, design, etc. The name/logo will be used on outdoor signage, banners, event tents, business expo signage, employee shirts, promotional items, etc. ---so it's important that our name is easily read and is recognizable.

I feel there's been more concentration on the circle logo/letters logo than the overall unit as a whole (name and logo). My concern is with many of the designs the logo outweighs our name in size and if I use it on outdoor signage, a t-shirt, a banner at a community event---our name is too small to read.

I prefer to avoid blues, because our main competitors color is a royal blue. Our bank building rooftops are copper metal. Possibly a copper/bourbon color like #B7621B or #BD7324 are colors that may work. I also like gradient versions of those.

When you mention copper-colored roofs, do you wish the color to be brown as in russet, chocolate, plum, mahogany, ebony or the metal’s distinctive green patina which has long been coveted by architects and designers. I note from the pictures on the website that the roofs are currently copper-brown. What is your preference(s)?

Our bank building rooftops are copper metal. It's more of a bourbon color (like #B7621B).
