Design a Logo for a Pistol Club

Contest Brief

The 74 Pistol Club wants to modernise its logo. The current logo is over 50 years old and features a 1960's era pistol. The 74 Pistol Club is an ISSF based pistol club. This means that we shoot ISSF style pistols at paper targets. We do not shoot service pistols like Glocks. ISSF style pistols generally have large "orthapedic" grips. A google image search should yield lots of results. Morini, Walther, Pardini, Feinwerkbau are some of the more popular manufacturers of ISSF pistols.

The current logo is attached for your reference. The logo should be completely redone. To win the job you need to do more than simply replace the "old" pistol with a modern variant. The club is a target pistol club and perhaps the logo could include an "ISSF style target" so long as this doesn't make the logo too congested.

The logo will be used in a variety of places including stationary and the club website. Importantly though, the logo will be embroided on team clothing such as shirts and hats and used on medals and trophies. The club colors are green and yellow and an example of the style of shirt worn by the club is attached. The logo should complement the shirt color scheme and fit nicely onto the breast area of the shirt.

The club is located in the city of Wollongong, Australia. Maybe this can be incorporated into the design. Don't let me be too prescriptive though. You're the experts at logo design. Dazzle me with your brilliance !

All artwork is to be provided in SVG format. All work must free of copyright or other restrictions on the use of images or fonts that may be incorporated in the logo.

    Hello, please see #47 . I believe a logo should represent best the field of activity and in the same time the feeling you can get when you use the product. I saw that you like the combination between the gun, the human hand and the Club's name. I've tried to make a more dynamic and more accurate version, with all the relevant elements: the target inspired by ISSF logo, the "steady hand", the 74 number turned into a ISSF pistol.
    In the same time, I checked the elements to be visible on any logo size, and the text to be readable. The colors can be switched between the logo elements. Let me know if this version meet your expectations. Thank you.

    please check #46, all source are vector you can change it to any color or asked for change to any color. like incorporate club flags within circle, etc. usually clubs have there flags or can used club represented by country.
