Contest Brief

The logo should be bold, strong and grown-up- think womanly, not girlish. A slight retro vibe- maybe mod-dish- would be interesting to explore.Typography is incredibly important here. If you do hand-drawn logos, that'd be brilliant. You can use the colors red, reddish orange, black or white- the red should be true, brazen red and not pinkish. Smaller elements of the logo can be another colour, as long as it goes interestingly and has an aesthete's vision.

The logo is for a women's magazine and website, aimed at women 25-44, that covers current affairs, personal stories, culture, lifestyle and humor. It's irreverent and funny, feminist and intelligent.

The text is "The Flounce". The logo can involve just these words in logotype, or "TF" in logotype with "THE FLOUNCE" in much smaller letters below. Graphics can also be incorporated. The current logo is attached- it's too girlish, but the client would possibly like to keep the side-eyes and designs that incorporate a similar concept in a more striking or put-together way would be appreciated. If the eyes are connected to the words in the way that it looks like one continuous cursive loop, that would be incredibly cool.

The V&A logo attached should be a particular inspiration of something that could work in many different colour schemes, and for the simplicity and boldness of the typography. I've also included many other logos= some with original typography, some with really simple, punchy vibes- the important thing is that the work is original, creative, bold and unique.

All elements of the logo must be available for legal commercial use and I will require layered files of the final logo. I also need a simple browser icon to accompany the logo.
