Contest Brief

Our brand is Red Panda World Apparel. We need the fashion logo spelled out completely with all 4 words. We need your help on how to make this the most marketable. We are a fashion brand that wants to use art on clothes (animal graphic art, and animal patterns) to raise awareness while building relationships with the artists that create our designs. Our brand aims to be high class, high quality, modern, yet still fun, and for all ages and types of people. We are making wearing animal art cool, fun, and for a great cause.

Here is a gallery of mock-ups we came up with:

The spelled out logo should also be elegant enough to be worn on clothing as part of branding. If it looks like it could be worn as a staff member at Rainforest Cafe or a Zoo it is out / not good. This is to be fashionable and world class above all.

Do not use any animals to add around these words. We have other icons for that already. We are focusing solely on the words here. If there are other nature affects you would like to add that can work, but the winner will clearly have the best spacing, style, etc.. for the words which should also look good in just plain black on a white background (you may try color schemes as well).

We are hoping you can come up with something better!

#47 shows our tear drop symbol being used - please make a version with the tear drop, then all 4 words spelled out across on a single line. You can make alternate versions as well, but we need this straight across one line version for comparison!

#49 is very strongly in the lead. Please see if you can make something creative, clean, and modern that utilizes the tear drop in front of the R all on one line across!

#47 is now the leader. I like the clean and modern design. This contestant is in a different contest of mine that utilizes our tear drop icon in front of the R which I like. This is a new inspiration based on many entries I have seen across my brand's contests. I'd like to see a version of all 4 words on one single line with the tear drop outline still in front of the R in Red. I know this changes the vision from the original brief so I am updating it now.

For all your information a red panda is not a panda bear painted red it is a small bear-cat looking creature: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/50/RedPandaFullBody.JPG, again I think the contestant sticking to the words will likely win, if someone can very subtly incorporate a red panda characteristic into the words maybe it can work, but I doubt it, I think it is too easy for it come off as cheesy like a Chinese take out restaurant logo instead of a fashion brand. This is not Panda Express Jr.

The challenge is making these 4 words all fit together while looking elegant.

#3 looks decent, the pictures of our mock ups were done by amateurs with a limited artistic vision for typography. Please feel free to veer away from our examples which were only to show to fashion flavor of the font we are chasing.

#1 and #2 look like it could be a Chinese take out restaurant's logo. We are a fashion brand. Also focus on the words and not the animal. If someone can add some nature/animal scene (a red panda is not the same as a panda bear) which goes along great with the spelled out logo that's great, but I think it will be tough to balance high class and fashion with animal touches on a spelled out logo. Knock yourselves out though.
