Contest Brief

I require a logo for our new brand of automotive hose, Daytona.
The logo must be clear and easy to read.
The logo must be recognizable and readable when printed on products in one color. It must not rely on color to make the logo detailed.
The logo will be printed on hose, the printing can be as small 3 mm high but can be 7 mm or longer when printed along the hose.
The logo must be automotive inspired.
The name Daytona must be part of the logo.
It is preferable that the logo has an image component (picture of a car, flag, race track etc)
If an image is included in the logo it must be next to the text and must not be lower or higher than the text. To understand this, please look at the lgoo I have attached and look up the 007 logo or NASCAR logo. The images do not go high or lower than the text and are placed on the right or left of the text.
Attached is our current logo for our industrial products, this is printed on industrial hose. Notice how the image component is not bigger than the text. This logo to me gives the feeling of strength and toughness.

  The logo is quite boring. It does not have an automotive theme and replies on colour to provide detail, the brief requires that the logo still retains its design qualities when printed in one colour and in 3mm high.

  #25 looks to generic and does not represent automotive. #24 is a good idea but the image is above the text, this would not print well on hose. The image would look squashed and tiny.
