Design a Logo for BattleMate - social media game

Contest Brief

Hello Everyone!

I need a logo created for a currently in-development social media game called BattleMate. The logo will be used on App itself along with marketing and formal communications.

Name of company: BattleMate
Note: there is no space in BattleMate. The logo must contain the name in full as a minimum.
Colors: I am personally keen on Black, White and Orange, or any combination of these. But I am really open to any ideas here since I need to convince others so the more options the merrier.

Random thoughts: there is an equal chance that this will appear on a dark or light background website. Looking for something that would appeal to a 15-30 year old "youth" market. Something that is "gamey" but could still be deemed professional.

EDIT: I have been asked about the genre of the game below. The theme of the game is a generic sports themed game. What we are trying to capture is a cross between a Battle/Competition theme (military stars for example might be a good idea) and a generic sports style game. I realise the two may not work perfectly together, but that is what we are wanting to achieve.

    I have had some discussions with my business partners and we have come to the conclusion that we particularly like the idea of the incorporation of both a military and a sports theme in the same logo. From the ideas that we have seen we particularly like the ideas of Wings to be incorporated within the design which gives both a military and a mythological "victory" feel, so in addition we'd really like to utilize these wings and replace the use of stars with some sort of sporting symbol which symbolizes victory as well, such as a trophy, cup, or championship belt.
