Contest Brief

Your ideas and design skills will help us to find a corporate logo that creates the image of a trustworthy corporate finance industry institution that provides a fair and equitable bargain by providing a service matching equity investors with medium sized farming enterprises that produce food (mostly wheat and grains but some lamb and sheep also). The organisation is called Food Equity.

Food Equity - equity has a double meaning of the risk capital provided but also of being a fair deal, even or balanced.

Some symbol that represents that image may work next to the name.

We like the handshake icons (equitable and balanced deal) and some combination with food or farming as being representative of that image.
Even a handshake between farmer and investor would be good without being too Farmer Joe as we are talking about sophisticated farming enterprises using latest technology and who view themselves as not being part of the traditional farming image.

In terms of colour the question is open but obvious is green for the "food" part and more corporate grey or blue, black etc for the equity/corporate side of things.

I know it is totally different to the above but I have also added the historical lion and wheat crest which I liked because it gave the image of a connection with a historical institution that has been around for a long time and for that reason some crest or the like may also be another way of achieving the symbolic image. So two different approaches; a new and modern clean, fair -socially and environmentally responsible type approach or a substantial, enduring, history, secure approach. I do realise these are very different ideas and apologise if that is confusing or unhelpful but it trying to generate a divergence of conceptual designs.

Guys - thanks so far for your input. I like some of the simpler ones. Has anyone had a look at the symbols and style in the pdf that is mentioned in the brief? That would be interesting to see.

I think the idea of the handshake and the lion idea is hard to make it work and now believe a simple clean corporate style with some symbol linking it to food production whilst still looking corporate is a better way to go.
