Design a Logo for my company whyse

Contest Brief

I need a unique and original logo design.

The logo is: whyse

The company is a start up consulting company with varied areas of expertise. It is primarily a environmental planning and engineering consulting firm, however I would like the logo to be generic enough to be used as a brand. The logo does not need to say/show what the company does.

The logo should be unique and stand out as it's own brand. The logo should not consist of overly used icons (e.g. arrows or globes).
I like text which is clear, simple and not too thin. Please no "clipart" looking images. However I am open to text and image/icon or text only design.

I would like to see some logos which have a stylised image (animal or other like leaf for example) as part of the word or before the word. Similar to the freelancer logo or the bomberlures.com logo.

Colour should be simple and no more than 3 but most likely 2. I am thinking greens/blues/yellows/orages/reds and mayby some black if needed.

If I find a great designer who gets what I am trying to put together, there is likely to be more and greater opportunities as the business grows (websites, other brands etc).

    Thanks for all of the entries so far. Some interesting and great work coming through. Sorry if I don't give feedback to everyone, I have been trying. Take a look at the logos which I have been rating to get an idea of the styles which I prefer. It is going to be really hard to decide and I will most like run a poll towards the end of the contest.
