Contest Brief

Need a logo for a website for freelancers (like freelancer/elance/odesk etc) but very specialised . The site will restrict who can be a freelancer to ensure ease of selection for best results.

I was thinking something that portrays the theme of the site allowing people to easily find the right person out of many to get the right result. THE LOGO SHOULD FOCUS ON THIS ASPECT AND NOT ON SHOES. The reference to oddshoe should be considered a metaphor for finding the right result as opposed to the wrong. The site is orientated to professionals so it has to have the right impact for them to offset the unusual domain name.

Colours from the logo will be drawn into the theme of the website. The Logo needs to be standalone so we can implement it in various mediums (ie twitter logo etc).

The logo needs to be modern and draw your attention to it. To this end, the colours should have a conservative but vibrant aspect - for example a slightly darkened lime/florescent green or orange could be used.

Why "oddshoe"? Was chosen in part for availability and secondly it's linked to the right/odd fit of the website theme for finding that right person out of a wrong bunch.

    uniqmanage, I want to ask you what software did you use to create #330 ? I am very new to these logo designing stuff and I use photoshop. Photoshop can't be used for vector graphics I suppose. So even if you use Illustrator, how do you create such logos with it because it seems to be completely different from photoshop and working with images is lot difficult there, I mean Illustrator lacks a lot of image editing options.

    Please respond and help a newbie! I see most CHs want the result in vector format. I wonder how do people create shiny logos in vector format using which software. Also how did you create that graphic on the left side of the logo? i mean using which software?

      Adobe Illustrator to create the vector, shine as you call it is simply a layer filled white with opacity reduced...
      A lot of people then render the vector image on a "mock-up" in Photoshop.

    Good work adnanbahrian on #375 - I concept that had not even occurred to me. I'm looking for a way to execute it a little better where the logo is on the left without it making it look like it is spealt ioddshoe. Sizing could be a little better.
