Contest Brief

Require a unique logo for Playtech, our game / hobby store. Our products include war, board, card games, miniatures and hobby supplies like paint etc.. We also sell gaming PC's and accessories. Some of the brands we stock include games workshop, Malifaux, Warmachine, Magic The Gathering, Infinity etc.

Online & retail store with game space to host gaming events etc.

Prefer clean, modern & effective designs.

Needs to work on web, signage (important), letterhead, cards and promotional material. Require Illustrator/Photoshop source files.

    Hi All, Thanks for all of the entries. The focus seems to be on the PC/gaming side of things which is only part of the business. Think of board games, war games, dungeons and dragons - A mix of old school roleplaying / dungeons / knights / dragons / castles etc, war games like warhammer 40k, card games like magic the gathering with wizards and creatures etc.. So many areas to draw from.

      the "TECH" part in the name isn't really a call to non-modern stuff ; medieval or fantasy treatment on such a name would feel odd or require justifications and extra work (that could work, but for most people, your logo would be as puzzling as shadowrun to non-RPGamers, i guess :) )

      We were hoping to get something that married the two together. Play applies to anything. It is all about playing games after all. Tech as in technical or technology. Either works. Technology has existed throughout time. A stick to a sword to a gun to a laser etc.. Also the the technology in gaming has evolved, the quality of the models, the materials in use.

      Consideration should be given to the fact that the logo will be used on more than just the web and print. It must also work as on physical store signage and displays. That may be either be cut with vinyl or built in fibreglass/perspex/wood. etc..
