Contest Brief

With attitudes to risk edging adventure out of young peoples’ lives, the Scouts’ focus on adventure and learning is a lifeline. Scouts are renowned for providing amazing adventurous activities and sporting pursuits to young people every year. Scouting provides them in a special environment where it is fun with clear purpose. We’re trusted experts in character and confidence building. Teamwork and communication skills, positive competitive skills, fitness and healthy lifestyles – all these are built in a range of adventures.

A centralised online booking system, administrative support and promotional material will brand the currently dispersed Scout Activity Units together to form our Adventurous Activity Academy (delivered through our network of centres) which will be the first of its kind in the UK Scout Association.

We aim to improve our Activities for up to 15,000 young people in Avon Scouting (and double that number again from Scouts in the UK and Internationally) by enhancing:
Climbing – new wall for County-wide use
Archery and rifle shooting – doubling current capacity
Hill walking, mountaineering, navigation, orienteering – ensuring access for all through a new Centre
Video Communications Unit, offering creative opportunities
Scoutcraft camping and expeditions
Sailing – doubling current capacity and offering ocean-going training opportunities
Rowing and pulling – doubling current capacity
Canoeing and traditional rafting – offering new opportunities
Windsurfing – offering a new activity
Water safety equipment
Adventure activity academy support infrastructure

As this competition is not guaranteed, I was just curious if you were at all interested in any of the designs, I would be and I know everyone else who submitted a design would be willing to make changes to fit what you are looking for.
