Contest Brief

I need a logo for a video game I am developing. It is a sports game based on the Irish sport of Gaelic football.

The game is called All Star Gaelic Football but will be based around the brand of ASG. I have attached an image that I threw together quickly to illustrate some of the main tenets of the logo. The main part will be the ASG part. This must be able to stand alone as a separate image. In the attached image I have used the typeface Carolingia. I like the look of it as I was able to join the characters up so they ran into each other and have an Irish look about them. The idea of this comes from the brand of the official Gaelic Athletic Association, see http://www.gaa.ie . I am not entirely fussy about the typeface, so long as it looks similar.

For the rest of the logo I am letting you use your imagination. It will need to say "All Star Gaelic Football" somewhere, but the "Football" part may be swapped out for different games ("Hurling" and "Handball" or others, similar to 2K Games and their NBA 2K, NFL 2K, NHL 2K, etc games), so keep in mind that it will need to take this into account. But I am thinking in terms of the Pro Evolution Soccer series of games of a clean, distinctive look. The logo will need to be designed in a way that it will look good on different backgrounds, for example if it was placed on game cover art.

Bonus points if you can also design something along the lines of the gaa crest attached. Completely different obviously but in the same vein. This is entirely optional. A number of different ideas/designs would be appreciated to have something to choose from. The winning bidder will need to provide PSD and Illustrator files, alongside png/jpg etc.

EDIT: Focus now really on the crest design. There have been a number of good entries and I like the idea of that. Still accepting main logo entries, including the "ASG" and "All Star Gaelic Football" bits. But I might just run with a modified version of what I already have. So get looking at the crest design. See the top scores for some ideas.

Please note there are a lot of people basing logos around soccer. Gaelic football has little to do with soccer, search for "Gaelic football" in Google for more of an idea.
