Contest Brief

We need a distinctive, engaging cartoon character mascot for a new "ninja-themed" web app. The character will appear in our logo and throughout the website. The character should -- of course -- be recognizable as a ninja. He should be feisty, but not intimidating. The character should be stylized and relatively easy to draw/render; a great deal of detail is not necessary (or desirable). The character will be rendered in a single color, typically black on a red or white background.

To give the character some personality, we need three illustrated poses: a basic standing pose, suitable for use in a logo or banner; an action pose that can be used to draw attention to important content on the website (helpful tips or cautions, for example); and a "victory pose" suitable for illustrating accomplishments, goals met, bonuses, and so on. (We may commission additional poses from the winning artist as our web app grows.)

We expect to register the character as a trademark, so a distinctive appearance is important.
