Contest Brief
A Cut Above Constructions is a residential construction and building business (i.e. no skyscrapers, malls etc) based in Sydney, Australia. The business needs a NEW LOGO designed.

The logo should be primarily text based with an abstract (NO TOOLS, NO HOUSES, NO SKYSCRAPERS) graphical element. It can have text and graphic separate or combine the two.
The winning designer will provide a flat minimalist landscape logo with clean lines that is primarily typography (light to medium weight) based with graphical elements not necessarily related to construction or building. PLEASE GET CREATIVE - i'll be looking for creative options! Keep it stylish and simple though.
The colour palette should be grey (#2f2f2f) with orange as a highlight colour (#cc6600).
Winning design will need to provide source files and any fonts used, if the typography isn't custom. Preference given to vector formats. Any questions at all just let me know!

In the end I awarded the contest to the closest design to what we would like (thanks Noishotori!), but it will not be used, so I have opened another contest with a revised brief based on what we liked from this contest. I would encourage everyone to read the NEW brief and enter this new contest, there were many high quality entries on this contest that just did not happen to reach out to us as the design to use for the business. I am sure with the new brief all you talented people will be able to find what we are after! Thankyou to everyone for your submissions - the contest has been extended as there is yet to be an entry that immediately strikes me as representing the business.
