Design a Standard Deck of Cards

Contest Brief

This contest is all about drawing a deck of cards! You know, the standard 52 card kind.

We have a new app that will be launching this year that uses standard cards in the game. It is not a casino game, but rather a 2 player game. Within the game, users are able to choose different decks to use. Since our game happens on a grid, the cards are displayed beautifully.

This entire project is art driven and has fantastic art throughout. We are looking for decks of cards to use in the game. The decks should be:

1. Standard 52 card decks. Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10-2, & Joker. Also include a card back backside.
2. The theme of the game is OUTER SPACE.
3. Cards can be outer space themed, or traditional BICYCLE BRAND style. Both are used in the game.
4. Cards do not always have to be white fronts. They can be black or other colors as well. Contrast tends to look great in the is game
5. Since this is an app, make sure numbers and symbols are readable at smartphone level. Don't make fonts too small.

For your submission, please at least include a number card, a face card, an Ace, and a backside.

We have attached some examples of the card sizes below.They are US standard poker size cards which are 2.5"x 3.5".

For inspiration, think deep outer space. Beautiful stars, contrasting brights. Also, in the files, I have included our avatars from the game. You do NOT have to include these in your designs...but if you'd like to use these, you can. They are the actual avatars in the game, and could be fun to use. You do not have to though.

The more you submit, the better chance you have of winning this. You can submit as much as you want. We will be watching it all very closely.

The winner gets $100, but we will be offering purchase deals to others that we like. Also, since we hire artists regularly for work, the best artists will get continued work from us.

Please keep in mind that this is a fun project, and should not be taken too seriously! These decks that you make will be winnable by players in our game, and will look beautiful mixed with the other art we have in the game. You will also get a credit on the game if your art is in addition to your payment.

We will personally review each submission and give feedback, as always. Copyright theft is easily identified here, so please, don’t waste our time. The artists here will call you out on it.

    First off, we are definitely going to choose a winner who shows their original sketches & details photoshop/illustrator files with their entries. AI generated art is not art in our opinion. Before the final judgement is made for winners, all entries will pass through a PAY-PER-TEST AI art recognition software. All freelancers that are found to have used AI as part of their submissions will be rejected and reported to freelancer. We have a super high respect for real artists on this platform, and AI is making it harder and harder for real artists to make money here.
