Contest Brief
The film is a bizarre mock-TV commercial for a talking toy bin that de-atomises trash. Centred around a typical nuclear family as they demonstrate the bin's capabilities, we watch as the Dad character becomes increasingly fascinated by the notion of recycling his belongings, and eventually himself.
I require a designer to sketch up some ideas for the 3 Benji bin models (large kitchen bin, medium living room bin, and kid's-size bedroom bin). I'm thinking a simple, open-top waste bin, with big animatronic facial features - the eyes blink and mouth flaps when it talks. I'd like the look to be slightly unnerving, so on the surface it seems like any other strange plastic family-friendly toy, yet if you were alone in a room with it you'd feel like it was quietly observing you.
I'm interested in mouth designs that aren't a typical smile. So like a beak or maybe animal muzzle, something that doesn't show much emotion. The overall tone isn't outright horror, it's more generally unsettling (like some old kids toys were back in the day).
