Contest Brief

The service is a one-to-one solution for upmarket travellers. We provide custom made trips all over the world for clients prepared to spend that bit extra.

Definitely nothing like Expedia or Travelocity etc. - the website has to have that PERSONAL touch to attract unique individuals, not bargain hunters. Our theme is "vintage" but we also like vivid colors that draw people in to the site, to give them travel ideas - we don't hard sell anything whatsoever.

We need LOTS OF IMAGES to emphasize the potential locations. We need them presented in a mix of SLIDES AND TEXT INFO. Not just pictures.

Here's a mock up of the first main page; http://living-journeys.com/ - we like the text fading in, like a modern day version of a 1920's silent movie.

The MUSIC is also important to the vibe of the site. It should be uninterrupted when clicking through all pages and constantly loop.

After the main page we need that mixture of SLIDES and INFO. About 8 pages. See this as a guide for the slides: http://www.alfonsolongobardisignature.com/gallery.htm - Except we want color and text added in there. We really like the PLUG-IN FOR THE MUSIC. It would be perfect to have our site like that.

BUT we also want a practical "ABOUT ME" page, including pages of general text, "TRAVELING WITH KIDS" - all with some images but not just a slide-show.

A website that takes the viewer "ON A JOURNEY" that's what we're aiming for! See our Facebook page for more inspiration: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Living-Journeys-by-Melinda-Torres/559501514138505 - the "Lady Luggage" picture is our logo (needs "Living Journeys" text design added).

Must work on all browsers but doesn't necessarily have to be smart-phone screen ready. Most clients will either have Desktops/laptops or iPads to view this.

Can you make something visually impressive with some text to inform people at the same time? We look forward to seeing your creation - good luck!!

Employer Feedback

“Amongst all the entries to this contest, it was easily won by Umesh of icaninfosoft. Not only was he prepared to meet the budget, but he was the only Freelancer to read and take note of the brief. He actively used our images, as opposed to others that simply failed to even show one of our pictures amongst their templates (or worse, just a message saying \"I can do this\"). Well, Umesh went above and beyond all those lazy ones, and because of that we are paying him a bonus for actually working with us and our ideas. A website owner and web developer need to find a level ground to communicate and work on, and that\'s exactly what Umesh is doing with us. Even when some adjustments or instructions get mislaid, he comes quickly bounding back with a message, a submission and ultimately follows through with providing us with exactly what we need.”

Try to impress with at least something more than "I can design for you, just wait and see"... we want to see something NOW!

      Hello Umesh,

Congratulations on becoming the winner. As I'm sure you know the work still remains to be completed to the full specification, and I will guide you along the way giving you instructions about what to do. It will mostly be cosmetic changes as opposed to functional, but let's see once you have uploaded the files and we can get used to the real web pages and not just looking at screen-shots.

I just wanted to show my good faith by initially awarding the work to you, and then after the full completion and satisfaction I will pay you a bonus, as I promised to you.

      Best regards,

      Mark

You have to actually come up with something for this. Just by writing that you can do the job will not be enough. I am really surprised how some people here think this is going to work. Anybody (even a child) can make a simple picture of a homepage these days, so if you are not willing to show upfront what you have to offer, please stay away. Somebody who has the proper skills can do this job quickly - I'm not going to increase the price just to attract 300+ lazy ass gold miners. If you can PROVE you have the skills and vision to me in the first place then I will pay a substantial bonus - AFTER you have proved yourself. THEN I will HIRE YOU!! So come on.... LET'S GO!!
