We need a homepage and search results website design for "Hire Help".
We're looking to complete this quickly, so if we get a great design in the first few days, we will end the contest early and select a winner, so don't wait on this one!
What the Site Will Do
HireHelp is a site for the local handyman, cleaning lady, babysitter, mechanic, etc. to find work as well as the local person needing
work to find someone who can do the work. Think of it as the local physical labor version of Freelancer. It is intended for people who either work from home, are self employed, but don’t have a physical location for their business and out of work individuals that have skills that can earn them an income. The site is free to use for both the person placing the ad and the person looking for the job. The fact that it is free is very important to incorporate in the design. It is a more robust version of the job section on CraigsList. It will display jobs and labor people based on geographic area.
What We Like
We had a design previously (several years ago) made which can be viewed here: [login to view URL]
We like aspects about this design, but feel that it should be brought up to current design standards and that it should fill the screen more.
Home, Browse Jobs, Browse Contractors, My Jobs, How It Works, My Account, Post a Job, Find Work, Sign Up (Home would be optional since the logo would ultimately work for that) the nav area definitely needs to be updated to be more modern.
Several versions of the logo is attached. Feel free to remove the "HIRE HELP" from below and place the words beside the logo if you need is spaced differently. Also feel free to change the font, it also seems a little dated now.
We're completely open to your suggestions and creativity on color choices, although we might prefer to avoid blue as a primary color.
The final design should be provided in an Adobe Photoshop .PSD format file and should have well named layers. The content area of the design should be large enough to fill the width of an HD monitor (1920px) without having large margins.
we are completely open on the 2nd page, the search results page. the results will be of the providers or freelancers, so they should be like mini profiles. as for what goes in the profile, since it could be used for a variety of different industries, probably just some basics, like location (like Washington, DC),a title (Certified Painter with 20 years experience), a business name (like "Joe's Painting Service) a single review with approx 15-20 words, and in indication to click something to view more. a 5 start rating and how many reviews are present for each provider.. but we like the kind of content in these search result pages that are in list format:

But we prefer a tile layout like this:

“Worked very hard to get us what we needed. Great job!”
