Contest Brief

This is a GUARANTEED Contest. The full $1,000 will be paid to one winner. The contest will not end prior to the contest end date.

Top Ten Percent is a new franchise. Our franchisees receive nominations of businesses from consumers. These are businesses that consumers feel are the best in their category. The franchisee evaluates the business. If they meet the assessment criteria, they are awarded honorary membership. The franchisee also offers a VIP Membership to the business. If the business enrolls in a VIP membership the franchisee assists in promoting the businesses through a cooperative advertising program with a strong emphasis on mobile marketing. In return, the business creates a special discount for Top Ten Percent's Consumer Members. This discount/coupon is accessible only to the franchisee's Consumer Members who can download it directly from their smartphone. There is no pre-purchase commitment or a coupon to print.

The purpose of this contest is generating the best ideas, concepts, designs and submitting those in advertisement form for the Top Ten Percent franchise concept. The advertisement(s) would be used for the purpose of generating attention and interest from candidates that are interested in investing in a franchise and you would be coming up with the most creative content, text and ways to explain why the Top Ten Percent franchise concept is their best choice out of all franchises they have to choose from. Most of our advertising will appear online on franchiseopportunities.com, franchisegator.com, franchisedirect.com, franchisesolutions.com and franchise.com. (This contest is not meant for designing advertisements for the purpose of selling our service to businesses or gaining additional consumer members, it is strictly for selling franchises.)

The contest will be awarded to the contestant who creates the best ideas, designs and concepts that most accurately delivers the most compelling message. One of our current advertisements can be seen at this link:

Please do not just rearrange the elements and content of this advertisement and submit a slightly different version than what we already have. We are looking for new ideas. Read everything and do your homework about the franchising industry and the Top Ten Percent concept.

We have attached multiple images you can use, but PLEASE FEEL FREE to use outside images as well. We encourage you to do so. Our desire is to see new designs, ideas and concepts so using outside images may help increase your odds of winning.

You are welcome to submit more than one entry. We encourage you to submit multiple entries, but only if the additional submissions are based on different ideas. Please do not resubmit the same advertisement multiple times with only slight changes.

The contest will be awarded to the contestant with the best "portfolio" of different advertisement designs, concepts and ideas. All submissions sent by the contestant who is awarded the project will be included as part of the award and it is expected that the winner would provide us with final versions for all submissions in four different hi-res file formats, .pdf, .jpg, .psd and web page form. All images used in the design must either be owned by contestant submitting the advertisement or after they are awarded the project, the winner would need to purchase the "Universal"rights (unlimited use in multiple media channels and national U.S. use) from Fantero or any other company the images were downloaded to the images and transfer those rights to us.

    I just don't understand what is TOP TEN PER CENT.
    You sell Francises. OK. But what do people buy when they buy one of your franchise?
    In Mc Donalds they Open a Restaurant.
    Is Top Ten Percent a Store? What does it buy\Sell?

      TTP is a franchise system. It's not a brick and mortar so there is no store. Our franchisees provide a service to businesses. You would create yor own idea and content for that idea and then lay the ad out by using our logo (several versions attached) and other images. Any size you prefer up to 8.5" X 11". Thank you.

    VERY IMPORTANT, PLEASE NOTE. The entries we have been receiving, while they are nice designs, I feel we must not be communicating the emphasis of what this advertisement is for. It is for selling the Top Ten Percent Franchise Opportunity, not the services that franchisees sell to Business Members or Consumer Members. Also, we are not looking for an advertisement that is simply elements pulled off our other advertisements and rearranged. We want new ideas that builds attention and interest in the franchise There must be an original headline that grabs the reader's attention and content within the advertisement that creates action. I had mentioned before. Think of this like McDonalds. The franchisee's sell hamburgers, but the McDonald's franchise headquarters sells McDonald's franchises. Using that analogy, the entries we have been getting have been about selling "hamburgers". In other words, they are for selling TTP services instead of selling TTP franchises. Thank you!

    Hi, Jerry. I just need to ask one question before I start working on a TTP portfolio for your contest. I can process all of the mentioned formats(pdf, jpeg, psd, png) BUT would you like the advertisements to be in any specific SIZE(or sizes) in pixels or inches?

    Hi Jerry. Can you tell me who you want to target in this ad? Will you be directing it towards business that you want to be part of TTP, consumers who will be using your products (like the websites, aps and review sites to find TTP businesses) or will this ad be for recruiting sales individuals to work for TTP?

      Actually none of the above Kelly. We are the franchisor, we sell franchisees. We are targeting individuals that are seeking business ownership. Think of it like this. When you see an ad for McDonald's Hamburgers, that is the franchisees advertising for people to buy their food products. McDonald's Franchise Headquarters founded by Ray Croc would advertise differently to find people interested in buying a McDonald's franchise. We are Ray Croc (franchise headquarters) in this example.Typically, since the audience that sees our advertisement will only be seeing it on the franchise portals I mentioned in the brief, we do usually need to design a advertisement to "filter out" anyone because out target audience would be the only people seeing it in the first place.

    The brief stated: "PLEASE NOTE: We do not want the advertisement above to influence the creative direction you take on this project. Please do not just rearrange the elements and content of this advertisement and submit a slightly different version than what we already have. We are looking for new ideas, we wouldn't be posting a contest if we were satisfied with the advertisement we currently are using." So, on the one hand, we are not looking for our existing advertisement to just be rearranged, we are looking for a new approach to advertise our franchise business, but on the other hand, we certainly would not classify this as a redesign of our brand or creating a new corporate image. It's simply creating a better message that we can advertise to generate higher attention and interest in candidates who are interested in opening a some form of a franchise. Thank you!
