Contest Brief

I'd like someone to design & build me a functioning ecommerce site on Wix with payment intergration.

My business name is Dhirre, which means slowly in Hindi.

I’d like a website design that's clean, uncluttered, simple & focused on images. I'd like a minimal colour scheme, using mostly black & white but perhaps with some pops of jewel colour such as yellow, if any.

My products are designed by myself in Melbourne in Australia, but are handmade in India. India is extremely important to me personally & I want to acknowledge this in my website but I don’t want my website to be dominated by Indian aesthetics as I think I will be mainly selling to a western audience. I want to promote the point that my pieces are hand-made in very small quantities.

I will be selling my products at a mid-level price range - not high-end but certainly not cheap. I want my price to reflect the fact that my products are made by individuals, not by assembly. Ultimately I’m aiming to attract female-identifying buyers that are mature, individual & confident in themselves, open to ideas & interested in other cultures.

My tagline is “elegant, bold & contemporary jewellery & textiles, designed in Australia & ethically made in India”

I like the following site's spacious layout, font, integration of instagram feed, the add to cart & buy now buttons, the text & image layout of the product & other pages, although I don’t want to use full width images, I prefer square images.

My personal Instagram account shows my aesthetic, although it’s a lot more colourful than I want my website to be - @ve.ri.tee

I’ve chosen Wix as a website builder because it’s the only platform that I’ve got any hope of using/editing myself. I’ve found Shopify, Squarespace, etc to be really difficult to use & unintuitive & have made me cry in total frustration! I need it to be easy!

My shop will have 2 categories - jewellery (with ability to subcategorise into silver, oxidised silver, stone-set & without stones) & textiles (with 2 subcategories of cushion covers & pouches)
