Creative Editorial Designer / Art Director Needed for Family Reunion Travel Magazine Project Overview I’m looking for a talented graphic designer / editorial designer / art director to create a polished, visually exciting multi-page family reunion travel magazine/newsletter for the Mack Family Reunion 2027. I want something that feels like a premium travel/lifestyle magazine mixed with a fun Black family legacy publication — stylish, colorful, warm, nostalgic, sophisticated and full of personality. Important: You Have Creative Freedom I will provide an existing draft/example showing some ideas I’ve explored. The example is for inspiration only. You are NOT required to recreate that design, follow its exact layouts, or simply clean up what I already have. In fact, I would prefer an experienced designer to bring their own creative perspective. Think of the example as a mood board/proof of concept, not a finished template. I want you to look at the content, photographs and overall concept and say: “I understand what you’re going for — now let me elevate it.” You have creative freedom to rethink: * Page layouts * Typography * Color combinations * Photo arrangements * Editorial hierarchy * Destination features * Graphics and illustrations * Maps/icons * Pull quotes * Infographics * Voting/poll presentation * Page transitions * Decorative elements * Overall magazine structure I am looking for someone who can art-direct the entire publication so that every page feels like it belongs in the same magazine. Overall Feel The central theme is: THE RETURN OF THE MACK Mack Family Reunion 2027 One Family. One Legacy. Endless Memories. The concept combines family, travel, Black family history, humor, nostalgia and tradition. The cover concept has some fun 1970s Black-cinema/movie-poster inspiration, but the entire magazine does NOT need to look like a 1970s poster. The interiors can be much more contemporary and upscale. Think: Luxury travel magazine + Black lifestyle publication + family legacy keepsake + destination brochure. I want it to feel professionally designed enough that family members could keep a printed copy for years. Content The publication will likely be approximately 7–8 pages plus/minus depending on your creative recommendation. Content includes: Destin, Florida 2026 Reunion Recap A funny and heartfelt recap of the previous reunion, including what went well, what we learned and what we can improve. The Mack Way / Family Legacy Family traditions, staying connected across generations and remembering where we come from. 2027 Destination Contenders The family will vote between three primary reunion concepts: San Antonio, Texas River Walk, Alamo, double-decker sightseeing, restaurants, museums, attractions and a city/hotel-style vacation. Broken Bow, Oklahoma Large cabins, lake activities, fishing, boating, outdoor activities, cooking, games and a more traditional everyone-together reunion atmosphere. Texas Coast Potential areas include Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, Rockport/Fulton and South Padre Island. Beach houses/condos, seafood, beaches, fishing, boating, dolphin tours and coastal activities. Official Family Vote A visually interesting voting/poll section with the ability to incorporate a QR code or voting link. Mack Family Traditions Including our traditional Friday Fish Fry and proposed Soul Food Sunday family dinner. Committees & Planning Food, activities, lodging, transportation, communications/photos, etc., so reunion responsibilities are shared across generations. Family Legacy Project Including a proposed family cemetery clean-up/restoration project in Minden, Louisiana. There may also be discussion of future Thanksgiving or Christmas destination gatherings. Photography — You can use family photos from here https://share.icloud.com/photos/084r9XG0DHwkPNgMueztI4tUw Normal professional adjustments are fine, including: * Cropping * Resizing * Positioning * Basic color correction * Exposure correction * Professional framing *Bonus we were unable to take one large group photo each family group color shirt represents a descendant line if you could create a photo with the red shirts , blue shirts , and purple shirt people it would be a bonus tip involved . Deliverables I would like: * Final high-resolution, print-ready PDF * Digital/mobile-friendly PDF * Editable source file * Individual high-resolution page exports * Proper print margins/bleed * High-resolution photography * Fonts properly handled/embedded * No blurry pages * No cropped-off content * No text/photo overlaps * Approximately 2–3 revision rounds Adobe InDesign would be excellent, but I am also open to Canva, Affinity Publisher or another professional design platform if your portfolio demonstrates strong editorial work. Ideal Designer I’m particularly interested in someone experienced with: Magazine Design • Editorial Design • Travel Publications • Brochure Design • Lookbooks • Tourism Publications • Event Programs • Black Cultural/Lifestyle Design • Family History Publications • Print Design Strong typography, photography placement and editorial composition are especially important.

Hi, I’m excited to share my concepts for the Mack Family Reunion 2027 – “The Return of the Mack” magazine/newsletter project. I focused on creating more than just a newsletter — I designed it as a premium family legacy keepsake that combines a luxury travel magazine feel with Black family culture, memories, traditions, and storytelling. The concepts include: • A strong cinematic cover inspired by the “Return of the Mack” theme • A Destin 2026 recap section with emotional storytelling • The Mack traditions and family legacy pages • A destination showdown for San Antonio, Broken Bow, and Texas Coast • A clean voting section with QR code integration • A dedicated legacy/project section highlighting the importance of family history My goal was to create something your family would not only read for 2027 planning, but also want to keep for years as a treasured memory.
