CONTEST: (1) Illustrate the website home page depicting the Land of Lorfe and the five main characters with three click through buttons. (2) Design the logo and variations for different format.
BACKGROUND: Land of Lorfe (‘Lorfe’) has five main characters: King, Queen, Princess, Knight, and a large hare with a crown of kowhai entwined with the pattern of the Lalibela cross. They have adventures in normal life. Lorfe is a state of mind - you take its role-play dress up magical twist into how you holiday, walk in the countryside, or go to the playground.
Commercially Land of Lorfe (‘Lorfe’) is a blog and brand of products. The blog is targeted at wealthy busy professionals and comments on how to adventure with your children while living chaotic lives in this modernised busy world. It recommends places, experiences, clothing and products for families that meet our standards of easy, ethical, useful, cool and fun. Lorfe also sells a capsule range of children’s clothing and products
Lorfe’s target market is 30 – 55 year old parents and gift-giver friends, as well as 60 – 80 year old grandparents. The younger market are the cool, urban international set of about-towners of the 1990s and 2000s, now just exhausted juggling big jobs/children/life – Lorfe lets them feel young and cool again and that they are being better parents. The older market worry that their children and grandchildren are missing out on the innocence of life that they enjoyed, by substituting play for iPods and iPhones. Lorfe lets them feel they are looking after their children and grandchildren.
I want an coat of arms of rectangular stamp shape in black and white line drawing – no colour. Elements to include - map; proud hare with kowhai/lalibela crown, 'Land of Lorfe' in regal stylised font; background of geometric mountain. Use botanical entomology style and geometric shapes. See my pinterest for inspiration.
I need you to produce the logo in the following formats: (1) website banner form, (2) business card, (3) A4 letterhead, (4) clothing tag (no writing, this should be the image of the hare); (5) stamp (same as clothing tag, but for packaging) (5) written script of Land of Lorfe for digital printing onto clothes.
I want a full-page black and white line drawing of a scene from Lorfe. I want minimal but poignant use of colour (e.g. only three colours different shades). I’m not sure what colours are right for the brand so take a punt and I can work with on this. The page should have written on it Land of Lorfe and should have subtle but obvious click through buttons for ‘ARE’, THINK’, ‘OFFER’ - you click through and enter the Land of Lorfe. It needs to be slick, professional, minimalist, cool. It will appeal to someone of discernible taste that doesn’t want to go on another bunny, sheepy baby children’s clothing website. This is a cool brand.
The page needs to set a scene/tell a story of the king, queen, princess and knight with the hare, racing off on an adventure. Perhaps looking backwards in part as they race away from the front of the screen? Or riding on the hare’s back? There should be natural scenery and a modern city area, perhaps drawing on imagery from this world, e.g. NYC, London, Tokyo iconic buildings, with Ethiopia, New Zealand countryside references to create this mix of worlds that is Lorfe.
You MUST look at Land of Lorfe on Pinterest and at the 'Inspire Lorfe Brand' board. You MUST draw on that board and following for inspiration: Edward Robert Hughes, William morris, Botanical illustrations, Entomology illustrations, Geometric illustration
