Hi, this is a follow up contest. Recently we got our brand new logo and now we need additional promotion materials. We have grouped a poster, FB header, FB profile "photo" and smartphone wallpaper because we want to have them in the same style to work as a whole.
First of all, there are a lot of bad designs of a poster and my eyes are still bleeding after searching for some good examples that I like and going through search results ;)
But I hope that these attached examples (not all are perfect) will help to start somewhere near to our expectations.
A poster should be eye-catching and the main message should be READABLE from a long distance like >15m - at this point people may decide to take a closer look or not.
Technically: 300dpi, A4/A3 + bleed, either vertical or horizontal is acceptable, vector file (some background can be a high resolution raster of course), fonts included.
Our poster will be about christian community worship events. It should contain the logo, some keywords, the dates of events, the FB link, the address, etc. I also upload previous poster which is not bad but nowadays it is rather average - we aim much higher now.
You can propose a poster first and only if it's highly rated I will ask you to prepare the FB header, profile "photo" and smartphone wallpaper as well to save your work and time.
FB profile "photo" should be some arrangement of our logo, I think, but maybe with an interesting background.
The header should have style similar to the poster.
The smartphone wallpaper should contain the logo and a background similar to the poster.
To give you some insight and general idea about our events I will copy here a part of description from previous contest:
This christian community members and leaders are mainly families with childrens, gathering together for worship events and other activities. Because it is usually a hard time for parents with newborns, active little ones or growing up youth to stay "on tracks" they have a place to rest and strenghten in Christ to continue their important mission.
The name is in polish - "Przystań SNE" - and its first part can be translated as "safe harbor". A landing place when you can stop by for a moment, repair your ship, refill equipment, food containers and then go back to the ocean of life because ships are not built to permanantly stay in harbors ;) [these are just a metaphor, we don't even have a lake nearby ;) ]
Zakotwicz swoją rodzinę w Bogu! (Anchor your family in God)
The dates to include on a poster:
If it suits your design you can group somehow dates of each year and use shorter form like
3.09 1.10 5.11 etc near bigger 2022,
7.01 4.02 4.03 etc near bigger 2023
Time of each meeting:
The address (warning, polish letters ;)):
Tarnowskie Góry - Strzybnica,
Please also add our FB link and QR code ("kod QR" in polish) on the poster.
Here you can find FB guidelines for headers and profile photo:
On FB header we don't need the address, FB link nor QR code ;)
On the wallpaper we need the logo, the message and the keywords.
We assume that the contest award prize is a total cost, everything included. If someone wants to make life easier and use a stock photo - it is ok for us but at no extra cost on our side.
“Well, our cooperation had two stages: - first stage during the contest, which I really enjoyed becuase Joyanta B. designs were looking professional, any suggestions left in comments under entries or on private chat were applied in reasonable or very short time - if we stopped at this moment I would give 5 stars for everything - second stage after finishing the contest and during files verification - there were some problems with applying bleed to the poster... I tried to decribe how it should be done, I have sent links to YT materials about bleed and it was still wrong. If I recall correctly fourth version of file had the bleed done properly but other issue was added (accidental brush mark, black dot on the image) so fifth version was needed... and then the sixth :-/ After this stage I am tired and I had to decrease some scores. I wish it was like the first stage... Too much of hurry, I think. But as a conclusion, I think that Joyanta B. is a great designer with a lot of interesting ideas. Maybe DTP is a new area or maybe printing house was handling some issues before without any notice? For digital design - perfect. For DTP? Maybe after my struggle it will be great from now on as well? ;)”
