Contest Brief

Hi Freelancers.

We are creating a website for an Island Resort in Vanuatu.

We have a great aerial image of the resort and wish to make it interactive - there will be spots on the image that are highlighted and when mouse hovered above a window will pop up with an image and brief text. On the pop up there will also be a Facebook LIKE button, a Facebook SHARE button and a MORE button that will navigate you through to a web page.

The website is a modern clean look and the pop up design must follow that - I have attached a file that shows the website home page and you can see the interactive map has some icons all ready - this is just a place holder - the icons can be what ever you dream up but they MUST stand out clearly from the underlying image.

I have attached a clean Background image for you entry.

I have also attached a couple of images that can be used in the pop ups - one is for DAY SPA and the other is for WHARF.

We have no pre-conceived ideas other than the look must be modern, clean, interesting. We like the idea that the pop ups may be partially opaque but then again maybe not ?

The size shape and placement of the pop ups is up to you - surprise us !

These are the rules of this contest.

1/ The winner must go ahead and create pop ups for the map based on the winning design. This must be done within 2 days of the winner being announced.
2/ All clip art, icons, elements must be free from copyright restrictions apart of course from the facebook LIKE and SHARE buttons -
3/ The winner must sign over copyright of the design to us in writing.
4/ The design must be delivered as a PSD with all layers intact so our web dev can animate the pop ups.

Hi Star Winner - the website is a WP theme but this part of it will be custom CSS as long as it doesn't affect other areas of the theme - we are working on that at the moment. Thanks for the comment.

Hi guys - no this wont be a sealed contest - I feel that the contestants should respect each others designs - I understand that some of the designs are close in concept - in fact with a pop up that is inevitable. What I am going to do is remove the ratings from all of them so that contestants are not informed by the ratings. Also for just this particular contest I am going to stop giving feedback in the hope that it will drive the designs to become more unique from each other.

Hi are you adding the images dynamically. (I meant, through a Content Management Interface). Circular image is possible through CSS3 options using border-radius or box-radius. Not sure about older browser support. However if this is a static website, then different sizes and shapes for image is viable and fine.. As the Web Designer will be manually incorporating the same.. Just a clarification.. Thats all

Thanks everyone for the entries so far - some great work there. Although I have given high ranking to pop ups with circular elements please also consider other designs - I have an open mind at this stage. Things I dont like are soft edges on the images, text being forced into circles, overly long thin pointers. Thanks again - Keep em coming !
