  Sorry but, logo can't be doing in gimp, like it cant be create in Photoshop. For doing a logo, we use Illustrator or other vector software. If you find a vector softoware, and we send you a eps, you can modifi it. But, you dont have legal rights to modify the logo that we send to you.

     I do believe that free and open-source alternatives exist. And example would be Inkscape.
     GIMP itself also supports having "paths" which are pretty much bezier lines.
