Easy Redo of bottom of Webpage Design - mostly just a new background is needed

  Hello all. I don't feel like the designs are modern looking enough. These look like 1998 designs to me. I feel like the mockup that I did is more modern. We threw the mockup together. Also, I feel like the colors are too dark, I'd like something lighter. Maybe the backgrounds can be a light gold fading into white color? I don't know I just don't want it to be too dark. Also, I mentioned that I wanted three touts, and I don't see the three featured touts on the designs shown.

     hi, this is much better conceptually, but it's too long, I'd like the page to mostly fit above the fold of the page. I'd like the layout to be similar to the one that I did in the mockup. It doesn't look as dark in this one though, which is nicer. Maybe a background that is light gold and fades to white? I just want to make sure that it's light.
