eBook Cover for Non-Fiction Book

Contest Brief

I’m just finishing up a new non-fiction book about teaching English in China. This book details my experiences in China over 5 years.

I’d like a cover made for this eBook, one that’s sized for both Amazon and Smashwords.

I have no idea what the cover should look like. You can use photos of people, such as students. You might also want to just do some kind of design. It does need to be obvious that the book is about China, however.

The Title of the book is: English Last: The Truth About Teaching in China

The Author of the book is: Greg Strandberg

If you’d like to see what some of my other eBook covers look like, you can check out my websites or Amazon:

If you have any questions at all please ask. I’ll probably give feedback on each entry soon after it appears.

I'd really like to get this awarded tonight. Right now there are 4 leading entries: #18, 45, 55, and 60. I think #18 has done the best work with graphics so far, but the cover doesn't tell me anything about teaching. #40 and #60 are great, but I'm worried about having a three-part cover.

I'd like to finish this contest today. The title I have isn't working for me, so I hope the winning entry will be able to change the title. I want the title to be "English Last: True Accounts of Teaching in China"

Thanks for all the good work! Right now it's 18,31,39, and 40 that are in the lead.

I've rejected a lot of entries because I want to get down to a final few. The designs that are up now are what I'm going for. I'm hoping to get them down to a final 3 here in a day, and hopefully award this contest in 2 days at the most.

Thank you everyone for your hard work and competent entries!

I'm really leaning toward what both pixelrover is doing with #18 and what thewolfmenrock are doing with both #23 and #31.

Great designs on #18,21,23. If it helps anyone, the city I lived in in China was called Shenzhen and that's something I mention in the book quite a bit. Still, most people looking for books on China teaching might not care about that.

There are pictures of me teaching on my website, www.bigskywords.com, although I don't think these are really usable.

The book focuses on 2 major companies that employ teachers: CTLC and EF (English First). The book really goes into a lot on these 2 companies and how money is more important to them than teaching.

I really go from the perspective that teaching is not a good job, it makes teachers angry, and the student's are terrible. It's more of a negative look at teaching in China.

pixelrover has the best cover now. It doesn't tell much about teaching English, but it looks good. I also like #6,8,9.
