Contest Brief

I’m preparing to publish a fiction title and need a striking, professional cover that instantly captures the tone of the story. I don’t have a fixed visual style yet—modern, vintage, minimalist or any creative blend could work—so feel free to explore different directions as long as the result is colourful and in harmony with the narrative.

Here’s what I’m looking for:
• Front, spine and back layout ready for print (CMYK, 300 dpi, with bleed)
• A separate e-book version (RGB, sized for major platforms)
• Source files so I can make minor text tweaks later

Please include a brief outline of your concept in your proposal and, if possible, a couple of portfolio pieces that show your range with colour. Once we agree on a direction, I’ll provide the manuscript blurb and exact dimensions from my printer so you can work to spec.

    CH, you need to watch out, most entries are going to be AI generated, 99% AI. These scammers will literally post HUNDREDS of AI images each but you can spot them. Watch out for them dropping all entries super fast. Keep in mind a solid design takes time to create, so submitting multiple different entries in a row is impossible. The easiest way to spot them is typing their name into 'Search Entries' so you can see their pattern of spamming and how fast they are posting entries. ALWAYS SEARCH NAMES. I cannot stress this enough, every single entry you like the look of, SEARCH NAME.

    ALSO PLEASE NOTE!!!
    AI-generated images lack copyright protection, permitting any third party to copy the design and could lead to future legal disputes over ownership or usage rights.

      Thanks for speaking up about this, the entries has gone to 390-ish in 3 hours and 500-ish in the next hour and now 1500ish... I wish Freelancer could have section where non-AI artist could meet with non-AI client to compete fairly. I was just done with sketch when all of them are done with full colored cover design... this is sad...
