Contest Brief

I am the owner of a small-scale retail business named MM Ibrahim & Sons Super Mart, and I’m looking for an experienced and creative Excel expert to help me manage my day-to-day operations more efficiently through a professionally designed Excel workbook. The goal is to develop a visually appealing and automated Excel system that includes a dynamic dashboard and multiple functional sheets to handle key aspects of my business, such as sales, inventory, expenses, employee salaries, and investments.

The winning entry should consist of 4 to 6 interconnected sheets, with the first sheet being a dashboard that visually summarizes important business insights. The dashboard should present an overview of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly sales, show the current state of inventory, employee salary totals, home consumption (items we take for household use from the mart), and overall investment status. It must be eye-catching and easy to understand, using charts, graphs, and summary boxes to represent data effectively.

The second sheet should cover Daily Sales, where I can log each day's transactions with product names, quantities sold, unit prices, and totals. This sheet should automatically calculate daily totals. The third sheet should manage the Inventory, tracking each product's opening stock, purchases, sales, and closing stock. Optional features like low-stock alerts or category-based sorting will be appreciated for added functionality.

Next, a dedicated Employee Salary sheet is needed to manage the salaries of my three employees. It should allow me to track each employee's monthly salary, attendance, or any deductions (optional), and automatically calculate their total payout. Another important sheet is for Home Expenses, where we will log items taken from the store for household needs, including the item name, quantity, unit price, and total cost, with a monthly summary.

Lastly, I need a sheet to record our Investments and Opening Balance, which will track the opening balance at the start of each month, any additional investments we make, and the resulting total capital available. This sheet should help in monitoring the cash flow and financial health of the super mart.

The complete Excel workbook should be user-friendly, well-organized, and automated, making it simple to use even for someone without technical expertise. Please include drop-down menus, conditional formatting, and formula-based automation wherever suitable. The visual design should be clean, modern, and professional, reflecting the values and ambition of our growing business.
