Contest Brief

Attached is an AutoCAD file showing 2D floor plans for two houses.
1. Single level
2. Two level

I require main views around the house, a basic dolls house view (view with no roof / ceilings) and a bird view of the North aspect.
Final views are to include landscape, cars, people, features however the design of the house is the most important aspect.
Environment can follow once a stunning design is in place.

The final 3D model also needs to be provided with source files along with .obj and .fbx exported files and with source textures unwrapped using 3DS script called AMC so can be imported into unity3D. Refer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nAiwUrW4T4 (Preferred however not essential).

I like ultra modern, contemporary style - cube / boxy, interesting shapes, flat and mono pitched roofs (pitched roofs are okay - however only if really exciting!).
I like large expanses of glass, full height windows, over-hangs and a nice mix of vertical and horizontal proportions.
The design needs to fit and be in keeping with young, modern, youthful style - contemporary.

The design also needs to fit a grid like steel framed construction system (grids at 5 feet or 1524mm crs) as noted in the AutoCAD file. Structure configuration as shown the following dropbox link.

Included in the dropbox link are ideas of design styles along with claddings and features I like.
I wish to also use cladding products as per the product guide provided in the dropbox link.

You are free to push and pull the floor plan along with placement of doors and windows as you see fit while being mindful of the grid format for steel structure.

This plan is a couple of many - I am looking to do a full series of varying designs in similar theme... The winner has a chance to be awarded many more projects.

Hi there, thank-you for making contact. You are up against some very strong competitors. I'm looking forward to seeing your design. I understand you are working on one house. That is really good... please do submit and if you have time submitting a quick mock-up concept design for the second house might give you a lead... good luck.

Hi ! I'm working for your contest with two level floor plan. I have a question ! the stair have 15 sidesteps. maybe the maximum per sidestep is 180mm. 15x180 = 2700. so level 2 height 2700mm. 2700 - 400 (450): horizontal steel frame. I think it quite low. And there are mistake in drawin stair, all sidestep are not straight away.

I"m in, love CUBE style, but I will do just 1 house with 1 level. Two for 200 with all these details and exports is a robbery. No offence :Đ
Is that grid construction system fixed or modular?

Hello and thank-you for your message. No offence taken with regards to your honest comment. The intention is for the construction system to be modular by way of individual components that are easily fixed together at the job-site. The grid spaces are however fixed. It's up to you if you decide for the contest to submit one or both houses. Thanks Craig

Few thing to say...AMC price is 59 euros. A it is converting materials from, lets say A&D material to Vray or Vray to standard. Unity neads standard materials to work with. Way shoul I use AMC when I can built standard materials in the start?

Hello and thank-you for your message. I'm not 100% sure on the process required to get 3D models complete with materials and textures into Unity. For this contest the conversions is not a specific requirement. However for longer term projects I would like to be assured the models can be exported to Unity. Thanks Craig
