Contest Brief

I'm looking for a design for a home page (NOTa layout with header and navigation) but only the graphical elements that will help convey what the site is all about. The site's tag line is "Stories Left Untold Are Legacies Gone Forever". I prefer semi-realist renderings of people and objects rather than photos but will consider any idea that reflects the purpose behind the site.

My vision of the graphics which "might" be used to convey the site's theme and functionality includes the following elements, but your creativity may supersede these as this is just my vision (which I am not married to):
THEMATIC ATTRIBUTES

Elements
o Family oriented site
o Multiple generations
o Sense of history
o Capturing the essence of who a person is/was (for a lasting legacy)
o Ease of use: An important aspect of this site is overcoming the perception that both photo organizing and capturing one's life story is an overwhelming task. We make it easy in a structured, common sense and enjoyable way, and do it in small bites at the user's desired pace.

Functionality:
o Interview question generator
o Story wizard that leads people through the process of creating stories of their life
o Photo organizing (upload, collections, sequencing photos)
o Adding audio (music or voice narrative) to sequenced photo collections
o Synchronizing audio to the sequenced photos
o One button click to auto generate a story (slideshows with sound, multiple formats)
o Family tree views as a visual interface to the stories of family members

DESCRIPTION OF SITE'S FUNCTIONALITY

Grab a group of photos that relate to a time in your life such as a courtship/marriage, or school years, career, military, youth or any time of your life that had special meaning to you. Scan them (or we will scan them for you) and upload those photos relating to that time of your life into "sitename.com". Our story wizard will lead you through the process of sequencing those photos, adding comments to photos, writing narrative for the group of photos. Record your story (written narrative) in your voice and synch the audio to your images (or just use written narrative). Then with the click of a button automatically generate a story and email it to family and friends.

Repeat with another story line or the same story line focused on your parents and grandparents then post them to the respective family member's photo in the family tree display (generated automatically by our system). - You've just started a priceless family narrative, one story at a time, that will be added onto and valued by generations to come.

Attached are some graphic images that might help inspire you or let you know what I'm thinking with my limited imagination. I'm not expecting production quality graphics, just a design concept that conveys the purpose of the site and the ease of use.

My fault for not being more clear on what I am looking for. Here is a file I created that is represented of the kind of ideas I am looking for (www.familynarrative.net/example.pdf). Rather than a single graphic that conveys a message, I am looking for several graphic images that together conveys the importance of capturing the life stories of elderly adults. The graphics should also give the appearance of "ease of use". The tagline is "Stories Left Untold are Legacies Gone Forever!". This example includes the various elements that hint to the features and function of the site. I'm not looking for the final graphic image just other ideas (or improvements on this one) that convey the message I'm looking for.
